Pros: * Easy Setup * Displays video reasonably well up to 1280x1024 x 75 Hz * Would probably work fine with a character interface
Cons: * Mousing is so incredibly awful it's all but unusual (Perhaps I'm spoiled by using Avocent / Dell KVMs which have better mouse support over a remote connection than this does with local Ethernet) * Virtual Media REQUIRES A USB DRIVE! (This is just a USB over Ethernet feature, no ISO support) * Some features (like hotkeys, are needlessly convoluted * The documentation is riddled with errors (not the least of which using the wrong default IP 80-90% of the time) * Statically assigned IP that forces you to change IP addresses to do the initial configuration
Other Thoughts: I thought that this might be a good remote support tool to allow a remote support engineer to troubleshoot a problematic PC where the OS is not functional. This isn't the product, unfortunately.
You can't use the word "g-o-d" in Newegg reviews. That's ridiculous.

Don't f you need to support linux servers
Reviewed By: Techark on 10/16/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: It works you can connect to a server, can reboot, can monitor it. Interface is OK but very limited.
Cons: Don't bother if you are supporting Lnux based or anything but windows if you want to use the virtual media to do OS reloads etc. It cannot read virtual media except as an attached drive to a windows machine located local.
Lantronx Spider for example with virtual media allows you to connect to your drive in your office with an ISO boot image and boot from it like you were there at the server. This unit does not you must have a physical windows machine located nearby, that makes it a very limited unit for OS reload purposes. But it does work if all you need is console access to work on the server.
Other Thoughts: Will not buy any more of them in fact will sell this one as soon as I can.
