5 out of 5 eggsGreat for old board

Pros: Noticeably faster boot-up and processing. Everything just runs faster!

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Fastest single-core processor supported by my motherboard. Asus A8N5X, AMD Athlon64 4000+ San Diego, CORSAIR XMS 2 x 1GB SDRAM DDR 400, 2 x 320 GB W.D. SATA hdd's in RAID 0 array, and XFX 6800XT Video Card. Previously running 3200+ Venice. 4000+ is a great, as well as cheap, way to upgrade an old Socket 939 system.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD 64 upgrade

Pros: Bought this to update a business computer that I have. Booted first time and has been running since. Used stock AMD 64 cooler. Not over clocked because the MB does not support it.

Cons: Not dual core

Other Thoughts: As always NewEgg ROCKS!

5 out of 5 eggsBest Upgrage

Pros: Last upgrade for my 939 system, and It totally worth it.

Cons: Using with stock A64 3000+ heatsink/fan getting a little hot ~40c idle and 46 load. AC 64 must solve that problem

Other Thoughts: Playing CoD4, Fear, just fine with 7600GT(slightly oc'ed).
didnt try Crysis yet. I dont know what to do with my 3000+.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Upgrade!

Pros: Dropped into my GA-K8U-939 mobo and had significant improvement from the Athlon 3500+ I had before. Faster, much cooler, better OC... great upgrade!

Cons: Not 2 core? shame they don't make a reasonable 2 core CPU for 939 anymore....

Other Thoughts: This is about as good as it gets for my 939. Next upgrade will have to be AM2 or Intel...

5 out of 5 eggsAdds life to Socket 939 System!

Pros: Great price & performance. I have used it to extend the life of my socket 939 system. I was able to use my old stock fan. I got it on a sale price with free shipping....New Egg makes driving to the store a thing of the past!

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: My system runs stable under stress tests at 2.85ghz using stock fan and with 31c idle & 44c max load.

Gigabyte MB (nVidia chipset), 1g dual DDR ram, Antec case with one 120mm fan.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Brings life back to an old 939 mobo setup. Very good price.

Cons: None...I guess if it was even cheaper it would be better! =-P

Other Thoughts: I have an oldder Compaq machine that's running on a Sempron 3400+ chip. It's a 939 board so there's not much worthwhile to upgrade. 939 X2 CPUs cost way too much so when I found out about this CPU I picked one up. The new CPU has brought a little life back to the system. It's no high end machine but it will run older games fine.

4 out of 5 eggsworks well for old tech

Pros: It runs most anything pretty well for cheap little processor. It seems stable for small amounts over clocking with stock heat sink.I only got 2.7 with out messing with voltage but there are to many factors to list it would probably over clock even higher if i spent the money, time and bought a better motherboard. It's good for the price if your just building a general purpose computer.

Cons: none really just wish i didn't have to upgrade to a different socket type for a better cpu

Other Thoughts: It's old tech. for gaming. I'm now switching to Intel core 2 duo e8400 3.0ghs and an ASUS p5q mother board it has much more bang but a quite a bit more money. In my opinion it's worth it for the gaming exp.
