5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong after 10 years!

Pros: I've had this processor in an old computer for 10 years (2004) now and it's still running well. Never had any problems along the way, either!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I loaded Windows 7 and Linux Mint 16. Windows 7 SP1 ran okay but you can definitely see some trouble with performance and Mint 16 was next to unusable.
Back in 2010, I loaded Ubuntu 9.04 and it ran well.

So, while this chip is showing its age, it aged well. I'm currently running XP on it and don't have a use for it at this juncture, but it may come in handy in the future.

Running it with:
MSI K8T NEO-FSR (no bad caps)
1 GB Kingston ValueRAM
ATI Radeon 9000
2 Maxtor 40 GB IDE HDDs
300W Starlogic PSU

Everything still runs like new! Currently running an AMD FX-8350 chip in my current PC. Looking forward to another 10 years, AMD!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great cpu for the price. I bought this along with an MSI K8N NEO3-F Socket 754 NVIDIA nForce4 4X ATX AMD Motherboard and am very pleased. I have it overclocked to 2.24 GHz with a 50 MGh boost on the FSB for several weeks now with no problems at all. Temps. of 30-34 C. idle and 48-52 C. under load with stock cooling. Great CPU.

Cons: None so far

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect CPU for Home Office

Pros: This is a great processor for a great price. I had a Athlon 2400 and I really notice a difference. Use this for my home office PC. Even runs a couple games I've put on very well.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Newegg is the best.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bang for the buck

Pros: For the money, I couldn't have gotten anything better. I upgraded from a 2600+ that crapped out on me, and yikes, what a performance jump. I've yet to see this thing really freeze without being under a heavy load games, DC and a bunch of other programs on). I definitely give this processor my blessing.

Cons: It's too cheap.

Other Thoughts: I love newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Darn Good CPU

Pros: Whoa, i don't know how Noobstar got his to run stable at 2.5, lol. But seriously though it is a VERY good cpu for the price shown. This thing runs very cool. i got mine to 2.2 Ghz with stock cooling. The temps run 33 idle and about 44 under load for about an hour of fear mp.

Cons: Well, one con for me would be... Nevermind i can't think of none.

Other Thoughts: Well this is a really good price for the proformance of the cpu. Although now, i sorta wished i gone with a socket 939 although their cpu's run about double the price. But if your on a budget or just dont wanna spend too much on your computer than by all means get this cpu. I think that this is the best socket754 cpu for the price. And the overclocking is good. This would make for a very good budget computer build up. I mean look at the PRICE LOL, you cant go wrong. P.s. I upgraded from a Intel socket 478 and man is thing feels at least 10x faster. So, go for it buddy.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: excellent for its price. I have it on a MSI K8N Neo3-F board. it runs very cool at 39 degrees celsius when just surfing the net and 40-50 when playin WOW. I replaced the stock fan with an arctic silencer64 and arctic silver 5. i was able to overclock it to 2.5GHz, but i was only able to set it to stock settings after putting a second 512mb of Corsair Value RAM.its most likely the board though. any suggestions?

Cons: none except for the minor overclocking issue, but im not blaming the processor.

Other Thoughts: newegg and the fast devliveries are awesome!
