5 out of 5 eggsClawhammer vs SanDiego

Pros: This is what you should know when comparing this with San Diego: you can overclock the "hammer" more because of the higher voltage. I reached a stable speed of 2.73 but other went over 2.8 If you do not want it overclocked go with San Diego. Is more power efficient (voltage and processing type) and have an additional set of instructions. (SSE3)

Cons: It's fairly hot. i cool it with A64 COOLER |ARCTIC FREEZER 64 PRO and under maximum load I reached between 50-55 (depending on the othercomponents temperature). I have 2 exhaust fans and 1 intake. idles between 35-39

Other Thoughts: You need a proper ventilation of the case for this CPU. Also consider a good power supply of at least 400W. My system : MB ASROCK 939Dual-SATA2 M1695 939, 2GB RAM A-Data Vitesta, 2 HD Western Digital (1 Sata 2, 1 PATA 133) VGA SPHRE A X850 XT, PSU LOGISYS 550W

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, so good

Pros: After updating the bios on this Abit A8V motherboard, I installed this CPU and it's been running real fast at it's default settings. I upgraded from an Athlon 64 3000+. So far, so good.
This system consists of an Abit A8V mobo, 2gigs DDR Ram, 250mb and 100mb SATA HDDs, ATI Radeon X850 AGP video and on board sound. At this point I'm very happy with it!

Cons: This CPU seems to run rather hot. It hasn't caused any problems yet, we'll see in time.

Other Thoughts: As usual, Newegg's service is tops. I will continue to buy from and recommend Newegg.com

5 out of 5 eggsFast!

Pros: Good CPU. FAST! Had it for over a year and STILL luvin' it!

Cons: The fan that came with it is loud. Buy a fan from Zalman or Thermaltake. I got the Thermaltake Golden Orb II and it worked very silent and lowered my CPU temperature 20 degrees.

5 out of 5 eggsWHOLEY CRAPPERZ!

Pros: This CPU took me to a whole...nother...level! I can play EVERY game I own (except Oblivion, thanks to my fx6600) at highest settings with no lag! Fast as all get-out. Definitely a good choice!

Cons: Didn't overclock well. Running stable at 2.65ghz with aftermarket HSF

Other Thoughts: My Rig: AMD 64 4000+, Corsair 2gb XMS RAM, GeforceFX 6600, Asrock Dual Sata2 Mobo

4 out of 5 eggsBuy San Diego

Pros: Fast proc.

Cons: Doesn't make sense to buy a Clawhammer for a dollar more than the San Diego... when the San Diego is 90nm with SSE3.

More expensive does not = better.
