games are in love
- Pros: Fantastic chip. Yes - its not dual core, but set the multiplier at 14x, the chip runs 2.8 at stock voltage, Idle at 34c prime 39c with
artic cooling.(Item #: N82E16835185125 ) - if you are a gamer and have a 939 system this chip devours games (currently playing oblivion, HL2, prey, AO, Q4) this new build kills at 1600x1200.
- Cons: when overclocking to 3 Ghz, the temperature jumps to 42c idle, 48c load - not sure if this is a true con, but I'd liek to have the chip run 3.0 cooler :)
- Other Thoughts: I'm so tempted to upgade another box with this chip, but I MUST RESIST.
(they have to come up with a multi-thread game before the next decade right? )
Looking for your Mojo?
- Comments: This is one awesome chip! Went from an Athlon 64 3500+ to this and the difference was BIG. Not that the 3500 is a slouch, this one is that good. Just like the other reviews, it runs real cool, and is fast, fast, fast. What's 8 Ben Franklins compared to finding your mojo? Go ahead, do it!

THINK ABOUT IT
- Pros: GREAT CHIP, ONE OF THE BEST GAMERS EVER
- Cons: NONE ,OTHER THAN PRICE!
- Other Thoughts: WHY WOULD YOU SPEND 2 C NOTES ON THIS CHIP WHEN YOU COULD BUY THE 4000 FOR 55 BUCKS??? THE 4000 CLOCKS AND PLAYS ANY GAME JUST AS WELL AS THIS CHIP,EVEN @ 189.00 ITS A RIP
Ownage anyone?
- Pros: i've had this processor for about a yearl and upgrade from a 3000 +, this processor owns. 64 bit processor on windows vista is ownage.
- Cons: outperformed by core 2 duo's, but for price to performance ratio amd still holds. Not dual core, but most games are not deisnged for running on dual cores so it doens't really matter. the Fx was designed for gaming.
- Other Thoughts: IF your a gamer stick with core 2 duo or amd FX, most games run better on FX processors than x2 processors. if you have a FX x2 then you got the best of both worlds. I want to upgrade to the fx 60, top line for 939 processors
Newegg...put this on sale again!!1
- Pros: Fantastic performance and extremely easy to overclock. Unlocked out of the box. Venice chip overclocked to 2.8 essentially makes it a FX-57 which sells for a lot more. I picked it up for a steal with a free hdd a while back.. Hope they repeat this sale, because i'd love to get another.
- Cons: price jumped up without a free hard drive.... :*(
- Other Thoughts: My CPU score in 3DMark03 doubled compared to my A64-3800 S939. I can rip DVD's in about half the time now (15-20 min vs 35-40min)
