great cpu
- Pros: I've had this cpu for 2 years. Overclocked to 2.5 ghz
- Cons: runs a little hot because i overclocked, around 47 C
- Other Thoughts: it was close two hundred dollars two years ago... oh how the times have changed.
Was a true warrior
- Pros: This gem was probably the best CPU I've owned in its time. Its just time for my studio work to drift towards Dual-core as most of the applications are now making use of it. I originally built around this CPU for high end gaming almost 2 years ago and in its time it would play anything out there. Today at the end of 2007 it was still performing tremendously, but my major bottleneck in gaming was the AGP graphics interface. I would still recommend this CPU to someone that will be doing basic computing, low end gaming, light productivity or anyone that doesnt need to take on full scale projects and have immeditate results. It lasted the whole time I had it and never flenched and was being ran 24/7 and upwards of 90% load for hours upon hours of time. I really hate to bury it and it will live the rest of its days as a net machine for the kitchen or something.
- Cons: Just cant compete with dual core now that applications have made use of them.
- Other Thoughts: A true champion and hope my new AMD gives the same results and it expect it to. I've owned 5 AMD cpus throughout their generations and have never been dissapointed. The one bad CPU I've had was from the other guys... not AMD.
Almost 2 years now.
- Pros: Runs cool, runs faster than anticipated, inexpensive. A great proc for a budget pc (still). I've had zero problems with this processor.
- Cons: It's on the trailing edge now as far as processor technology is concerned, plus 939 is no longer offered.
- Other Thoughts: If you haven't purchased a motherboard yet, I would seriously consider AM2 if money is an issue.
