5 out of 5 eggsOn a Budget?

Pros: This thing is alot faster than you may think. I had an intel p4 2.8Ghz i paid to much for and it fried in 1 month. I have 2 of these cpu's and they work great. Great for gaming and everything. I have another amd athlon 64 X2 4200+ just for me cause the 3500+'s are for my friends since they had no money.

Cons: are you kidding me?

Other Thoughts: Don't go intel cause Amd is killing intel and they will think of a way to kill intel's core 2 duos for sure. Amd is just working on a lower price then the core 2 duos so they can sell more. Thats just whats taking so long.

4 out of 5 eggsHOT!

Pros: Its not intel, its cheap, will rock u like a hurricane

Cons: read other thoughts

Other Thoughts: bought this processor, with an ASUS mobo, very satisfied.. one problem the junk(lack of a better term)that they used for the thermal paste was horrible .. had to remove. Replaced with Arctic Silver.. still ran into problems. processor works great.... but when i needed to take out the processor (To place my new DDR ram; not enough room) the processor was so hot it took it over three hours for it to cool down enough for me remove it.. if any of you run into this problem wait for it to cool down. ignoring this request will result in you pulling the processor out with the heatsink, and in essence you will be bending the pins. .. like i said very good buy if u know what your doing. If not please be careful, use AC and dont use any other paste, processor runs very hot. but it should for the amount of power and speed it puts out. would recomend to anyone.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat proc

Pros: great processor, runs any 939 like a dream. almost no lag whatsoever in high quality graphic games, with a decent graphics card, and enough ram, you can run any game with it. runs pretty cool.

Cons: bought this product for xxx dollars, but the price keeps going down, so i lost 100 bucks since the time i got it, but it was the best i could do for the money i had. and i'm impatient, so i wanted it NOW! lol

Other Thoughts: easy to install, didnt use the supplied sink

5 out of 5 eggsGood Chip

Pros: It's worked well for me so far. I just overclocked to 2.42 GHz and it's running great. Good price, too.

Cons: Not faster or dual core.

Other Thoughts: Very good product for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: Fast fast processor. Worked out of the box and i even overclocked it 10% with nooooo problem what so ever. Great processor when you are always compiling with Gentoo Linux and reinstalling different linux versions often. I got 2.4 GHZ and on a benchmark it said it was the equivilant to a 4 ghz intel.

Cons: Not X2 which i want now hehe. But my next laptop will probably be an Acer with the X2 (very good price on those).

Other Thoughts: Um... if you have the money go with a dual core AMD. Don't touch celerons but either this or an X2 proc is a good idea. :-)

5 out of 5 eggsA very good value

Pros: The 3500+ is the fastest cool-running 67 watt chip made for socket 939 (not 89 or 110 watt), much faster than Athlon XP Barton, comes with a good cooler, 3-year AMD warranty (see "Other thoughts" too).

Cons: The supplied cooler requires lapping (sanding & polishing) for maximum contact with the heat spreader. And of course, this chip will probably be cheaper tomorrow...

Other Thoughts: What's the difference between this 3500+ and the other, cheaper one? This "CG" version is actually an X2 4200+ Manchester dual core that didn't pass inspection and has half the core deactivated. It is functionally identical to a Venice core. The chief advantage of the "CG" is that it's an "E4" stepping, which has an improved memory controller over the "BP" version with "E3" stepping. Also, the "CG" is 1.35v, while the "BP" is 1.35/1.4v., and since the Manchester core is larger it makes better contact with the heat spreader. Lower voltage and better heat dissipation should allow the "CG" to overclock a bit better.
