I hate to say this
- Pros: Good, Cheap. Powerful, even at stock!
- Cons: 512k of cache, but that is what the 4000+ is for!
- Other Thoughts: Just a little more info on the types:
ADA3800CUBOX=Regular (This one)
ADO3800CUBOX=Energy Efficient
ADD3800CUBOX=SFF + Energy Efficient
The AMD 64 X2 3800+ is great... but this is the wrong one to get
- Pros: Great price/performance ratio as of Jan 2007. I bought one (before doing the research mentioned below) and it works great.
- Cons: AMD has three 3800+ X2's which differ only by power consumption. This one is the worst of the three, and Newegg stocks one of the others (ADO) at the same price. The OPN for 3800+ X2 is one of:
ADA3800CUBOX (89W) (this one)
ADO3800CUBOX (65W) (same price)
ADD3800CUBOX (35W)
Less power consumption it a Good Thing on its own, and if overclocking, it means less heat.

AMD Continues to Shine
- Pros: I've been running with this chip, in an EVGA nForce motherboard, for about two years now. It has served me faithfully in all that time, performing excellently at good temperatures without any issues.
- Cons: None that I've encountered
Cheap, good.
- Pros: Best bang for buck.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Buy a AM2/AM2+ mobo, so that you have option to upgrade later.

- Other Thoughts: Newegg speedy delivery placed my order on monday arround 1am and got my stuff the next day at 4 via ups ground.
