Good buy
- Pros: This is a great processor for those who wish to move to a dual core set up. easily overclocked and runs smooth. i upgraded from a 3500+ and was immidiately amazed at how much faster this processor is. Worth every penny.
- Cons: none.
- Other Thoughts: system-AMD 5200+, 2 gig corsair XMS2, 250 gig hd, Zalman cooling, 650 BFG psu, 7900 GTX OC, Asus Crosshair, X-fi sound, Thermatake Armor series.
Great CPU
- Pros: A great CPU for anyone looking for speed, performance, and stability. Ran so smooth with my setup. Stayed cool even with the stock fan. Replaced fan with a Zalman and noticed about a 8 degree temp drop under load.
- Cons: None that ive noticed.
- Other Thoughts: My setup- This CPU, ASUS m2n32-sli deluxe mobo, Zalman CPU Cooler, 2gig Corsair dominator RAM, 2 WD 500g SATA HD's, EVGA 8800GTS gpu, Thermaltake Armor

Great chip
- Pros: Real fast processor, everything is very responsive in Vista. I'm very please with it.
- Cons: Stock fan/heatsink is well, stock. It gets the job done but definitely not for overclocking.
- Other Thoughts: I'm going to try and OC it as far as it will go with a zalman 8700 fan/heatsink.
Good OC
- Pros: Great processor, has lasted me more than a year now. Had a Phenom 9500 but there are problems with it, so I just threw this guy back in there. Let me tell you, its a pretty decent overclocker for AMD. So far I've got this guy to 3GHz without touching the voltage @ 28 Celcius
- Cons: I will let you know when I find one.
- Other Thoughts: Antec 900 case.
4GB Corsair 4-4-4-12. XFX Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512MB. Asus Crosshair Mobo. ThermalRight Ultra 120 Extreme Heatsink /w 120mm Scythe fan. antec 650watt trupower trio psu.
- Pros: There's a reason why this processor was nominated for a customer's choice award - there really isn't a better combination of price versus performance than with this processor.
Noticeable upgrade from a 6300 Core 2 Duo.
- Cons: Absolutely none.

Highlights
 |
AMD64 Dual-core Technology AMD64 is designed to enable simultaneous 32- and 64-bit computing with no degradation in performance. With dual-core technology there are two complete processor cores in one physical package running at the same frequency to deliver TRUE multi-tasking power, allowing users to switch from one program to another without pausing for the computer to catch up and reducing annoying processing pauses.
|
 |
HyperTransport Technology HyperTransport Technology (HT or HTT) is a high-speed, low latency and point-to-point link designed to increase communication speeds between integrated circuits in computers, servers, embedded systems and networking and telecommunications equipment. With HT technology the Athlon 64 X2 5200+ AM2 processor enjoys up to 2000MHz system bus speeds and delivers a maximum of 8GB/s I/O bandwidth and 20.8GB/s processor-to-system bandwidth.
|
 |
CNQ: Cool'n'Quiet Technology AMD's Cool'n'Quiet technology is an innovative solution available on AMD Athlon 64 processor-based systems that can effectively lower power consumption and enable a quieter-running system while delivering performance-on-demand.
|
 |
Enhanced Virus Protection All AMD processors equipped with AMD64 technology are enabled with Enhanced Virus Protection. Enhanced virus protection acts as a preventative measure causing viruses to be localized, short-lived, and non-contagious, then viruses are flushed from system memory.
|
 |
AMD Virtualization Virtualization on desktop computers allows a single PC to act like multiple virtual machines. AMD Virtualization can enable client computers to seamlessly support multiple operating environments. And it also helps make it easier for PC enthusiasts to upgrade and maintain their PCs through emulation.
