5 out of 5 eggsgood budget CPU

Pros: If you're trying to build an inexpensive machine that isn't meant for serious gaming and doesn't need to be a performance beast, this is a good CPU to get. It's cheap, it's reasonably fast, and there are no stability or compatibility issues whatsoever. Good, solid budget chip.

Cons: It is a budget chip. Don't expect wonders from it.

5 out of 5 eggsNice, cheap processor!

Pros: It's a big improvement over my existing AthlonXP 2600+. It runs very cool compared to my AthlonXP while providing similar performance (at stock speeds, haven't overclocked it). It's a 64 bit CPU, but I haven't had a chance to install Ubuntu 64 bit (only have 32 bit Windows). Included fan and heatsink are quality items, the fan is quiet and the heatsink comes with thermal compound already applied, so no need to buy thermal paste.

Cons: Uhh...it's not dual core? Seriously though, this chip is nice, especially for under $50.

Other Thoughts: Thought it was dead at first, but it was because my motherboard was shorting out on stray pins sticking out of the case. Now it's running fine.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is the 2nd AMD processer, the 1st was a 2.2 duel core, super fast! I thought this would be like a turtle, got for the price, my wife needed a computer
for a at home job. But it works great for normal use, and pretty fast too

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Don't try to overclock, it is what it is.

5 out of 5 eggsgood solid CPU

Pros: works great, never had any problems with it since i purchased it. fan and heatsink work great never had over heating problems

Cons: The 1.6GHZ leaves something to be desired, i only wish i AM2 had been so cheap when i bought this CPU. Without much room for socket 754 improvments your best bet would be an AM2 or similiar.

4 out of 5 eggsFit My Need -- Little Thought Involved

Pros: Price and availability.

Cons: None visible.

Other Thoughts: I didn't so much pick this processor as default to it. I needed a PATA/AGP mainboard, and this processor was one of the few that would fit the mainboard choices.

5 out of 5 eggsphenomenal bargain

Pros: Incredible power for such a low price!! High quality heatsink and fan from AMD in the retail box. Installation was a breeze, and a HUGE processing increase from my Athlon XP 1600+. Very happy with my Palermo. Looking forward to exploring the OC aspects of this chip.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Sure, its not dual core or cutting edge, but for "regular tasks", its a rock star. Ripping and burning is cake, as well as graphics work and audio/video playback.

5 out of 5 eggsKept my 754 Mobo alive!

Pros: Overclocks like a dream, i have this pushed to 2241.7 Mhz on air (246FSB x9) speedfan temps 34 idle 45-52 Load. I can push it farther, stable for 12 hours (prime) at 2.45 Ghz. When coupled with a cheap M*I Micro ATX board and a 7300GT I can run HL2 and CSS on high with 2xAA and 2xAS. If you need to keep your board 754 system alive, get this.

Cons: Its not AM2? Its not dual-core? Its not 5.45 Ghz? Nah, accept the multipliers locked.

Other Thoughts: If you need to keep your old system alive or dont know how overclock and need a cheap practice system, get this.

4 out of 5 eggsGood price, no potential for upgrade though

Pros: Good price
AMD 64

Cons: Doesn't support Kool n' Quiet
No real chances of upgrading

Other Thoughts: Bought it because it was a good cheap combo for a HTPC. Seems to run pretty cool so that's nice.

4 out of 5 eggsi have this

Pros: I have this processor and it runs great. I play all my games with it and it doesn't slow down. I would use it now just because its cheap and with a good mobo can be overclocked

Cons: nothing bad

Other Thoughts: Runs great I like it
