3 out of 5 eggsAverage processor

Pros: It works for what the computer was designed to do. Works fine if you want to just listen to music, download small-medium sized files within a reasonable amount of time. Came stock with my HP Pavilion dv6000. Good for a stock processor.

Cons: Its a terd if you want to try and run high-powered games, and run a virus scan, or download large files. Takes a minute for things to boot up and loading certain things on the internet.

Other Thoughts: Computer should come with a faster processor than this. This is NOT a good processor for even cell-phone type video games.

5 out of 5 eggsit all depens on the mem

Pros: i have a 3.8GHZ processor and a ASROCK bord 500GIg hd
win xp and a nvidia 512 mbd ok this it how it works
---it's not about the processor it's all about memory if you have 1 gig memory 333fsb in a 500mhz computer and a 256mb 333 fsb memory in a 3.8ghz computer the <<<<3.8 it's going too be slower it all deepens on the memory install more memory the processor works less and stay is coller and get a graphic card.

Cons: IT'S NOT ALL ABOUTE PROCESSORS......MY ALIENWARE CASE AND MOTHERNBORD FROM NEWEGG.COM AND ALX.COM

Other Thoughts: I HAVE LOT'S OFF PROCESSORS
A LOT AND THE OLDEST PROCESORS FROM 386 AND NEWER AND THE OLDEST PROCESSOR 268.. I HAVE SOO MANY PROCESSORS. IAM 24y OLD KNOW I STARTET COLLECTING THEM WEN I WAS IN GERMANY 7y OLD AND I STARTED WORKING ON PC'S WHEN I WAS 7 y OLD

2 out of 5 eggsOverrated, overpriced

Pros: Runs

Cons: CPU is always maxing out way worse than any other comparible AMD. DOES NOT run cooler like people claim. My laptop on a chill pad gets 63 degrees C maxing the CPU :( This CPU has restricted me from playing many games on my laptop. Wish the board was capable of supporting AMD!

Other Thoughts: Bought my laptop in September of 07. Toshiba A205-S4639 My best friends works as a stress tester for Intel computer chips and thinks they are the best things since sliced bread, but when my laptop runs against amd's in the same $ range or performance range it gets stomped all over :( Why did I get an Intel!!!!?????

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Don't let the 1.66ghz fool you, this thing is smokin! This thing leaves my 2.8ghz single-core in the dust! Runs very cool, I can rip a DVD, run a virus scan, listen to music, and do my homework at the same time.

Cons: Absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: I use Windows XP, with 1gb of RAM.

4 out of 5 eggsCore 2 Duo does do more

Pros: Great, does it's job and it's fast. I would recommend it. Anything Intel Core 2 Duo I would recommend.

Cons: I haven't found a lot of cons, just sometimes the computer lags a bit when it's loading things, but that is expected

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome mobile proc

Pros: Cool-temp, 64Bit, quite powerful, Vista CPU rating of 4.7 from ASUS R1F Tablet PC, 3 level speedstepping: 666MHZ, 1.1GHZ, 1.6GHZ

Cons: No Intel VT, Tad expensive, Could use some more speedsteps

Other Thoughts: Intel's VT is missing, but most home users don't need it. CPU Rating is quite high compared to other mobile CPUs

4 out of 5 eggsGood value

Pros: Solid Linux support, plugged it into my MSI mini-itx board and it screams! 1024MB of ram helps of course... It runs very cool with MSI-supplied heat sink, as this is a mobile pc that was important and it draws very little current as well, sweet deal!

Cons: no heat sink supplied even though this is a "boxed" cpu, whats with that Intel? They always used to supply a heatsink/fan with boxed cpu's...

Other Thoughts: Haven't figured out how to access the 64bit capability in Linux, oh, it also runs great in Win-2000, but didn't do much with that...

Pros: FAST! Dual-core and 64-bit.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I upgraded a Mac mini Core Solo with this chip. The speed increase is just amazing!

5 out of 5 eggsSweet CPU

Pros: Very fast, dual core, 64-bit processor. I got it in my Dell E1505, and with 2 gigs of RAM it's great. I highly recommend it.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: If you are trying to decide between a Core Duo and this Core 2 Duo, go for this one. It's great.
