The Intel Celeron D processor delivers a balanced level of proven technology and exceptional value of desktop PCs. The Celeron D 326 processor is no exception and features a 2.66GHz clock speed, 533MHz FSB, and 256KB L2 cache. This processor is a competitive budget solution for home, office and classroom computing.

With this nimble processor popular tasks like surfing the Internet, using educational programs, working with home-office applications and listening to music can all be accomplished with ease. Other advanced features including Intel Execute Disable Bit, which allows the processor to disable worm and buffer overflow attacks on its own, and EM64T support, which permits greater use of virtual memory, are presented for enhanced system security and more efficient computing.

  • newegg Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (Intel EM64T) Intel EM64T provides an enhancement to Intel 32-bit architecture by enabling the desktop processor platform to access larger amounts of memory. With appropriate 64-bit supporting hardware and software, platforms based on an Intel processor supporting Intel EM64T can enable use of extended virtual and physical memory.
  • newegg Execute Disable Bit (EDB) Intel's Execute Disable Bit function can prevent certain classes of malicious "buffer overflow" attacks when combined with a supporting operating system. Execute Disable Bit allows the processor to classify areas in memory where application code can execute and where it cannot. When a malicious worm attempts to insert code in the buffer, the processor disables code execution, preventing damage or worm propagation.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!!

Pros: What can we say, this is our favorite processor to build with! Never a failure, always fast and reliable our customers love their PCs based on this processor. Wonderful price to value!

Cons: Does not suit heavy gaming, but we knew that going in.

Other Thoughts: For office or student computers, light graphics work, standard games and basic overall home computing this processor is the device for you. You will be very pleased.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Chip!

Pros: Price. Newer Prescott core. Did I mention the price! :)This is a chip that will hold me over in the meantime til i buy a core 2. Before this, I had a AMD Athlon XP 2500. BIG difference!! Has a 19x multi, so OC'ing the chip was pretty easy. (19x200)=3.8Ghz.

Cons: Not enough L2 cache. Intel stock fan isn't the best. Runs CPU @ 50c when I have it OC'ed to 3.8Ghz. Will get a better cooler so I can keep it when I get my core 2.

Other Thoughts: Specs: Asus P5P800 Mobo; 1.5gb RAM: Ultra 512mb ddr400 (x2) and 256mb ddr400 (x2) in Dual channel; Samsung 16x DVD/RW, and DVDR0M; ZP Pro; Saphirre 9600xt agp8x vid card w/ 256 DDR RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Good!!!

Pros: Great for a budget! I have had no issues with this processor. It does an entire world more than I thought it would do. Well worth all the tiny bit of money it costs now.
It multi-tasks (which I did not think it would) fairly well.
I highly recommend this to anybody.

Cons: No cons.

5 out of 5 eggsgood CPU

Pros: -faster then my old processor
-is a good overclocker
-good value
-vary easy to install
-vary reliable
-64 bit

Cons: -256 L2 cache
-does get hot

Other Thoughts: I bought this processor for my new build and so far it seems to be doing well, had no problems with it yet. The heatsink was tricky though but it was my first time with a LGA775 socket. I got this processor so I could save up for a core 2 later on but while I wait for the prices to fall on those *wait’s* this processor is just fine for the time being sense I only surf the web and play the sims2. this processor does overclock good, I have it under 60 degrees C at 3.4ghz on stock cooling which I thought wasn’t bad for stock cooling (my mom’s P4 is around the same temp and hers isn’t OC’ed).

My spec’s are: Gigabyte GA-965P-S3, Wintec AMPO 512MB, NEC DVD+/-R burner, in a Thermaltake case with a Thermaltake PSU, with a 3D Fuzion 7600gs, and this processor at 3.4GHz.

5 out of 5 eggsGood CPU

Pros: Great Budget CPU! Pentium 4 with 256L2 and 533 FSB, thats all it is! 64 bit support nice for future Operating systems. runs cool

Cons: Celeron, they could put slightly better L2 on them!

Other Thoughts: THIS IS NOT A GAMING CPU! It will play some games yes, but it isnt for oblivion or BF2! Good processor for music movie viewing/ internet, etc...

4 out of 5 eggscheap but good

Pros: cheap good buy for a desktop system

Cons: not a duelcore

Other Thoughts: steping up to 64 bit is a plus. not for a hadcore gamer but makes a good desktop system. suse 10.2 runs twice as fast on this, then a 2 gig athon. should have at least 512 ram a gig is better. you git what you pay for. in this case you git alot!

2 out of 5 eggsthe source of my problems

Pros: none i found

Cons: heatsink for lga775 stock is stupidly made, who the heck came up with this garbage heatsink, caused mine to not fit tight and therefore burned out after 2 weeks

Other Thoughts: like the title says, this is the start of my problems, i thought i'd get my first parts and it'd go smooth, well, the 1st build worked for 2 wks, had my project on hold since
