I know it's better
- Pros: It's a decent value, even cheaper now than when I bought it. Great budget cpu to get you going and upgrade later down ther road. I put this in a GIGABYTE GA-73VM-S2 and modestly overclocked it to 2.0 Ghz right away. It works great.
- Cons: I know the E2140 is better, but I honestly can't tell any difference between this and my Pentium D 840 from 3 years ago. It just slightly surpasses the PD in the PC mark tests I did. But it only did that when overclocked to 2.0 Ghz. Don't get me wrong I still like it. I guess this isn't a con when you think about it; see other thoughts.
- Other Thoughts: I know I'm comparing it to an older processor, so I guess it's probably a pro that the E2140 can do the same thing at 2.0 Ghz that a PD 840 at 3.2 Ghz can do and the E2140 also consume less power and runs way cooler while doing it.
I wish i overclocked
- Pros: I was a little skepical buying a pentium dual core with such a low clock, but after booting up the first gmae, i realized this CPU, a graphics card, and 1GB of ram was awsome. i imagine it can be overclocked very far, but i didnt want to blow it, and this computer was for a customer.
- Cons: i wish it was cheaper/faster, but w/e, its not for me.
- Other Thoughts: this is great for casual gaming, email, or anything. It is also fast enough for Vista.
nice overclocking
- Pros: amazing overcloking.. i have this baby running @ 2.8ghz with 25Cº. no voltage move at all.
- Cons: mmm... i wish i could make it work at 3.2ghz
- Other Thoughts: got it runnning on a msi p6n sli board
