In service for 13 months
- Pros: The 570J is an extremely proficient processor excellent for multi-tasking functions. My system is used primarily for video rendering and CAD programs; and, the 3.8Gz processor performs beautifully. I highly recommend this product for the stability and the processing power it provides.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Extra cooling devices are not needed – the stock fan and heat sink is all that is required. According to Intel, the 570J will perform as well at 35 degrees C as it will at 65 degrees. As long as the temperatures are kept below 75 degrees, this processor will operate at 100%. Motherboards make all the difference in the actual operating temperatures of this processor. I found that by using an Intel 955Xbk board, I obtained the best results with this processor. I had the 570J on three other boards from other manufacturers; and, the operating temperatures were much higher and performance obtained was not up to the standards that I received from Intel. Furthermore, Intel boards with Intel Processors provide the stability and performance that we expect.
Overclocked Performance
- Pros: Good, solid, stable performance, and it handles overclocking quite well. I have a 600mhz overclock on this CPU, and it's as stable as running in spec, AND with no voltage bumping needed. Definitely a strong backbone for a gamers rig.
- Cons: Like anything, you pay a premium for premium. Brace your wallet.
icy on air
- Pros: I oc'd to 4.1 and installed xp sp2. I'm a gamer and so far no prob's whatsoever. My house is kept extremely cold so keeping it on air was a cinch. 30C on air. :)
- Cons: Um... none.
