5 out of 5 eggsGreat Processor

Pros: Solid processor, haven't OC'd or really tested its speed(still waiting for my RAID drives), but while running 4 hungry processes usage was only at 50%

Cons: Kinda hot(45 at idle) with a cooler master heat sink(copper/4 pipes)and Antec case with with a vent duct that hugs the fan nicely. AI booster shows it barely in the yellow, perhaps another case fan?

Other Thoughts: Using P5WD2 prem and 1gig Kingston paired memory, very nice setup.

5 out of 5 eggsnot too hot at all

Pros: Very quick and o.c. able

Cons: Stock heatsink is the worst

Other Thoughts: the zalman 9500 and some extra case fans bring tems down to 36/51 and @3.6ghz 41/53

4 out of 5 eggsHOT CPU

Pros: Not the fastest, but faster than my old P4 3.0Ghz Northwood. Needed to run 3 instances of prime95 to max the CPU load.

Cons: Temp reached 69 C on full load. I have this CPU installed in an Antec P180 case w/ no HD in the upper chamber. Although I'm running stock CPU, it still seems a little too hot for comfort. All this heat can't be good for the System.

Other Thoughts: I don't understand how ppl are claiming under 40 C under full load. Yes, I'm using Arctic Silver 5, and so far, I've burned it in for over 24hrs. I may have to swap out the stock heatsink for something better, but I doubt that it's going to reduce the temp by over 20 C. All you guys running this CPU uner full load < 40C, are you running like 10 case fans, and have this system sitting in an air conditioned room?

Good thing this is a build for someone else, because my old P4 Northwood produces enough heat to make my room a little warm, but this thing is a space heater. I'll probably upgrade to an AMD X2 as my upgrade since Pentium D's are way too hot.

5 out of 5 eggsNice!

Pros: Nice CPU! It runs between 35 and 40 idol. I like the dual core as well! It speeds up everything, even with 1GIG of ram. I would buy again.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsDual core is the way to go

Pros: Great processor from Intel with a 955X or better chipset. Very fast and very stable even when overclocked.

Cons: Heat! Heat! and more Heat! This processor needs lots of movingair!

Other Thoughts: Intel states that the heat fan is sufficient, but the processor running on an ASUS P5WD2 mb operates at between 55 and 60C. Installed a Thermaltake Big Typhoon using Artic Silver and temps have dropped to low 40's. Newegg has the best prices and delivered promply with no hassels. These guys are great!

4 out of 5 eggsthe low down

Pros: This thing flat out flies, you can throw anything at it and it just smiles and runs through it, i have never had any lag from my cpu

Cons: HS/F sucks, make sure you buy a good aftermarket hs/f or else your gonna have heat problems. I also strongly suggest a full tower case, or at the very least make sure your case meets the thermally advanteged chassis specs, or again your gonna have heat problems

Other Thoughts: averall its a good cpu as long as you ensure adequate cooling
i have a mid tower case
zalman 9500 solid copper hs/f
idle 38c full load 58c

4 out of 5 eggsFast, Gets Job Done

Pros: This processor is very fast. Does what its suppose to do. (Run two things at once). Setup with Intel 955xbk board. Never stays at 100% unless running spysweeper and viruscan. I am still able to type while doing both spysweeper/viruscan right now and its jumping around between 70%-96%...Excellent Processor!!!

Cons: Heat (see Other Thoughts)

Other Thoughts: I might need to upgrade with more fans. Only have one intake(80mm) and exhaust(120mm) fan. Idles between 43'C-47'C and Full Loads between 60'C-67'C full load. This setup is used along with the Artic Cooling Freezer 7. I also have a cheap case which might be a problem too. Other than Heat. I love the system.

5 out of 5 eggsStock Heatsink OK with re-work

Pros: Works great at running SQL MSDE engine and VB client application at the sane time. Very quick at compiling large applications

Cons: Stock heat sink is OK it just has a bad design to secure it to your motherboard. If you have moved your PC around, you have probably knocked the heat sink loose!

Other Thoughts: Heat problems persisted until I took the stock heat sink off and cut off the 4 plastic feet and bolted it to the motherboard. Now the temps run normal range.
