5 out of 5 eggsGreat overclocker

Pros: Over clocks VERY well. I currently have it over clocked to 3.5GHZ!!! Runs Vista and many of the latest games at high settings. Runs Crysis on Med settings well. Peaks at about 55c after gaming on stock cooling.

Cons: there's no Extreme Edition. I'll probably have to lower the clock some summer time. CPU fan sounds like its gonna blow when the temp goes over 55c

Other Thoughts: I could probably push it all the way to 4ghz if i got some better cooling.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat chip

Pros: Great chip for the money. Enjoyed it for a year before I aquired a 3 ghz. Did not think it would make that much difference but it was a large gap between the two.

Cons: Not near as good as the 3ghz Pent D. Price is near the same.

Other Thoughts: Buy the Pent D 3ghz. Its Way faster than the 2.8

4 out of 5 eggsGreat, but HOT

Pros: This is a great processor. Runs most games well and good for a lower budget. Fast speed and wonderful for multitasking on a smaller scale. Easily overclocks to 3.2gh if you can keep it at a good temp.

Cons: Tends to run very hot! When browsing the internet and checking email averages 55 degrees. Sometimes when Fox One my temp monitoring program isn't open the computer will shut off because of overheating!

Other Thoughts: If you keep the temp monitor open you will be all right! Consider a cpu cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Proc

Pros: Good, fast, cheap processor! Keeps me happy

Cons: Not a core 2, but also not the price of a core 2!

Other Thoughts: When i first installed this, I forgot thermal compound, and i nearly had a heart attack when I saw that it was running 65c after running for about 30secs!

4 out of 5 eggsGood cheap priced processor

Pros: Bought this processor 6 months ago as I made a 600 dollar computer rig. Really enjoy it. Coming from a pent d this dual core processor is amazing. Processor can easily keep up with any new game that has come out.

Cons: Be aware. Pent d can get hot. I firstly bought this the stock fan with the processor was ah man was that a mistake lol. 49C idle 70-75C under load. Pent d highest should be around 69C. Went and got a artic cooler 6 heatpipe heatsink and bam idle at 38c max 51C so i'm happy

Other Thoughts: Really good processor when have to be on a budget.

5 out of 5 eggsWow its still good...very good

Pros: i bought a pentium D about 4 years ago (it was the 820). I can't believe that this dual core processor still screams though most applications, i mean its 4 years old and still great! buy if you want a good price/performance!!

Cons: ummm...its not a quad core! haha

Other Thoughts: i can't wait untill i can save for the Q9050!

pentium D, 2.8GH; 3 gigs of ram; 8800gt; 1.3 terrabytes; yeah i'm happy for now :_)

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I know these are sorta outdated, but I was surprised at how fast it actually is. Easy to overclock, and it stays cool.

Cons: The thermal pad... thing... on the heatsink is harder to remove than the paste on newer processors.

Other Thoughts: Definitely not the fastest processor I own, but a good solution for a budget build.

4 out of 5 eggsThis baby is hot

Pros: Fast, really fast...

Cons: Can't get the thing to cool down even at idle temp it's 55C. Will re-Install Fan and Heatsink to see if maybe I missed something.

Other Thoughts: EVGA 680i
Foxconn 8600GTS
