5 out of 5 eggsGreat price, Great product. Great Service

Pros: Runs without a hitch on a quad core intel xeon setup. Installed without issues. Good price, almost half of what other greedy retailers are charging. As always, Newegg service and shipping rocks!

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: As one of the other posters mentioned, it's difficult to find what works with what system. I installed 2 of these to my Dell PowerEdge SC1430 server without any issues. I'm maxed out at 8 GB, running Vista x64. Everything works.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for me

Pros: Good price. It works.

Cons: I still wish it was cheaper.

Other Thoughts: I am using this in my home server with an Intel S5000XVNSATA mother board, dual quad-core Xeons and 8 GB (so far) of RAM. I know that there is little information for what works with what when using server class components so maybe it will help to know what worked for me.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother Great Newegg Product

Pros: Solidly built. Installed with no problems.

Cons: Would love to max out motherboard (16GB) but limited by operating system (MS SBS 03) to 4GB. Otherwise great value over stock memory.

Other Thoughts: Heatsink and overall appearance are identical to memory already installed in server.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory for high end apps

Pros: Put 4 of these is a 1kW Precision 690. Works great with 64 bit versions of Abaqus, Fluent, and Hyperworks blazing fast.

Cons: A bit pricey. Make sure you want FB-DIMMs. They will not fit in regular DDR2 slots.

Other Thoughts: I will probably get 12 more soon (16 tot 32GB) for the 1kW 690 to run some enormous models that I have had to farm out in the past.

5 out of 5 eggsIf you need heatsink.

Pros: Very reliable memory and very stable.

Cons: No Apple approved heatsink included. If you intend to drop these in your mac pro, I would recommend ordering a heatsink from maxupgrades.

Other Thoughts: A lot of users complain about this ram not coming with proper cooling and having to take the heatsinks from the memory that shipped with their macs. I got my heatsinks from maxupgrades and memory ran cool and without a hitch. They're pretty overpriced, but still come out cheaper than any other third party vendor that sells the same memory.
