great RAM
- Pros: Works great, good cost, what more can you say about RAM
- Cons: none
What can I say...WOW!
- Pros: Yes I know this memory is fairly costly for gaining only an additional 100mhz of speed, but based on experience, this extra little push can make a big difference in gaming and CAD. I would highly recommend. Very stable, extremely cool running (very solid heat sinks), and excellent access speeds.
- Cons: No cons with this memory what so ever.
- Other Thoughts: If you have an existing motherboard, that takes PC2 4200, this memory should work as well. I have a Dell Dimension 5100 that I bought practically bare bones for the reason that I could get far superior parts such as this memory, for practically the same cost that Dell is charging for their memory which runs at PC2 3200 speeds. If you know your way around the inside of a PC, you are ALWAYS better off buying from Newegg!
Sweet - Needs 2 Volts thou
- Pros: I paired these sticks up with another Corsair DDR2 PC4300 512mbx2 kit (cas3 @ 533mhz). They make my computer take flight and soar through Everquest2 like never before on the "balanced" setting. Not problems and I was able to overclock my FSB to 3% just like usual. Easy to install and highly attractive heatspreaders. Run EQ2 for 48 hours straight without any crashes.
- Cons: I had to manually set the timings to 3-3-3-8 and 533mhz in the bios of my Intel 925XCV motherboard. It auto detected as 5-5-5-12 @ 667mhz... I could not Overclock my FSB a usual until I set the DDR2 Voltage to 2 volts.
- Other Thoughts: I dont think ram was made for 4300 but it does run at advertised settings with an overvolt.
