- Pros: N/A
- Cons: N/A
- Other Thoughts: To correct my previous comment, I made a typo and said it was 780 MB (which is more memory than I have physically). IT SHOULD BE: 760 MB are recognized by the OS. Sorry.
Excellent memory
- Pros: Works like its supposed to. Installation was easy, just slipped it in the slot and turned on the computer. It was recognized immediately and has been working perfectly so far. Compared to before, my computer runs blazingly fast and it can now handle the Ubuntu live install CD, whereas before it couldn't (due mostly to insufficient memory).
- Cons: No cons
- Other Thoughts: Upgraded my memory from 256 MB, now I have 768 MB running on a Dell Inspiron 6000. 780 MB are usable by the OS, which is fairly reasonable. I had no problems with any blue screen of death that was mentioned in an earlier review involving the Inspiron 6000, so go for it if that's your model. I've installed and run Windows XP Pro, Ubuntu 6.10, Solaris 10, and Mandriva One 2007.0 on this computer after installing the new memory and had no problems.
Blue Screen?
- Pros: Not sure about any other than the price.
- Cons: A little difficulty inserting it into the slot. And made computer blue screen with memory dump. I put it in with a 256mb stick into Inspiron 6000 and after 1 day computer locked up and eventually blue screened.
- Other Thoughts: Not sure what to do. I have no other laptop to test it out on, so I guess I'll try having it just by itself and see if the problem persists. If it does, I will send it back and maybe buy a 2nd one to make sure it's paired with the same sticks.
