Pros: Both sticks worked for a few years.

Cons: One out of two sticks died. I used these from 2008-2009, then again in 2011. Early 2012 one of the sticks died. Tried in other memory slots, it wasn't the mobo, it was the stick.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

Sorry to hear that you had problems with your memory modules. Since memory IC's are very fragile, there is no guarantee that they will last forever. This is why we have a life-time warranty to protect your investment. In such event you may contact us and obtain a warranty replacement. Please kindly follow the attached link to send in a RMA Request, we will assign a Rep to assist you. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggs5 years now, never a problem

Pros: I bought these over 5 years ago, always worked without a hitch on various nforce based boards Ive had.
Now that Im finally upgrading to all new parts I dont know what to do with these, lol. Maybe frame them and hang them on the wall.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat ram

Pros: Had this in my custom build system for almost a year...No issues what so ever. 2Gb is plenty of ram for everything you could ever want to run (Quake 4+ winxp pro + some otherstuff = 800MB of ram used, The F.E.A.R. demo had 1.6 GB used). Go with this stuff.

Cons: IT runs well...NO CONS

Other Thoughts: System Specs:
amd athlon 64 4000+
asus a8n-sli mainboard
2 GB GEil Ram
320 GB western digital ide hard drive and 250 GB seagate sata hard drive
dual chaintech 128 mb geforce 6600GT pci express x16 (In sli mode)

5 out of 5 eggsBasically the best I've seen

Pros: This RAM is fantastic. Saying that it's the most bang you can get for your buck is all very well, but it is indeed very nearly the best you can get in its category whatever the price. Although it is advertised at 3-4-4-8 CAS latencies, it ran flawlessly through three highly stressful months at 2-3-2-5 CAS latencies even at the nominal 2.6V. (For those who know not of what I speak, this is very very good. I saved sixty dollars here.) After that I boosted it to 2.7V just to be extra safe. Not only that, but it is held under LIFETIME WARRANTY by GeIL, and its nominal voltage extends from 2.55- to 2.95 volts, meaning that you, I, or anyone could 'over-volt' it until you get the best performance out there--all without even coming close to voiding its warranty.

Cons: To be honest, I have not found a single con, not in 30 total hours of scanning with the the latest versions memtest86+, benchmarking with numerous programs, torture computation with programs of My Own Design, and several hundred hours of high-end gaming. It is pretty much the fastest you can reasonably expect in DDR400 memory. Whatever the manufacturer modestly labeled it as.

Other Thoughts: What more can I say. How about, don't settle for anything else. Unless, of course, you're using DDR2 or something else even faster. But for DDR400, I can't say I'd reccomend much of anything else, especially for the overclocking crowd.

I have a Jetway 939GT4 SLI-G motherboard (with a Venice core AMD Athlon64 3200+ CPU installed), recently 'stolen' by eVGA to sell under their own label (so you know it's got to be pretty good). It is among the best overclocking and SLI motherboards to be found, despite its price, but this memory should work in just about any other DDR400-compatible motherboard you care to use it in.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for budget pc

Pros: Price / performance ratio. It's near unbeatable for what you get. It's not the fastest or best, unless you look at its price.

Cons: Not high-end sticks of memory, but it's not supposed to be.

Other Thoughts: If you need 2GB of memory (and we know why!) and you don't have an unlimited budget, get these sticks! Most people couldn't tell the difference between these and more expensive RAM.

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than G.Skill

Pros: Faster than any other ram I've used so far including G.Skill
My system is a P4 2.8 gig 478 socket ASUS P4S8X-MX mobo 2 40 gig HDs 1 SUSE 1 microsquash XP ugh 1 gig Geil ram atm but im getting another gig ASUS 5950 ultra 3d card AGP 3dmark03 marks with 1 gig of this ram is 8397 vs 8289 with 2 gigs of G.Skill which is more expensive per gig.

Cons: None but I am going to build a new gaming rig with an AMD 4000 San Diego ASUS A8N32-SLI mobo 4 gigs of ram and 2 ASUS gt7900 512 meg 3d cards all using SUSE 10.0 because I despise Microsquash.

Other Thoughts: I swapped the ram into my other comp which is also the same P4 2.8 gig processor but it uses a shuttle mobo and ASUS 9250 gamers edition 3d card. When benchmarking that unit the 3d marks dropped from 1211 to 1209 with twice as much memory. The reason that comp has such low 3d marks is that particular 3d card is a weakling and all the ram on earth won't help it. So it got the G.Skill and maybe a new ATI x850 3d card depending how generous I feel when I stop in the computer shop next time.

5 out of 5 eggsBang For Buck

Pros: -Epox NF4 motherboard detected all aspects of the RAM correctly.
-Runs at CAS 2.5 with a small voltage increase.
-I bought this kit a year ago and it's still working perfectly.
-2 GB futureproofs for Vista or other intensive apps.

Cons: Some other good value RAM like Patriot or G.Skill might be a little cheaper. Just keep an eye out for sales and rebates. I've always heard good things about Geil (can't say the same about Corsair), so this might be a safe bet (or as close as you can get).

Other Thoughts: Be careful if thinking about performance RAM. The Law of Diminishing Returns applies here. Unless you've got money to blow or a high-end CPU and GPU to match it, expensive RAM won't get you much. This kit should elate anyone who looks for 'bang for buck'.
As other reviewers mentioned, be careful with ElectroStatic Discharge.
