Just like corsairs once dominated the seas as the fastest ships around, Corsair Dominator memory is the fastest memory around. This 2GB kit of PC2 6400 memory will handle anything you can throw at it. Each set is tested together, so you know there will be no problems running them in dual-channel mode. This is the ultimate kit for gamers and others that need the best memory out there for their 64-bit systems.

To keep everything running cool these modules use DHX (Dual-path Heat eXchange) technology. The heat removing PCB is surrounded by Corsair's signature heat sink with fins and ribs for maximum surface area for heat dissipation. The set comes with the optional AirFlow fan system just to keep things as cool as possible. These combine to give you cool running memory even under heavy loads. So game hard, game long, your memory can handle it.

  • newegg CORSAIR Dominator Series DDR2 SDRAM The DOMINATOR family of memory represents the ultimate in performance technology engineering from Corsair. The DOMINATOR DDR2 SDRAM memory modules were designed with the highest performing IC for maximum over-clocking capability.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Like A Champ!

Pros: I do video and graphic editing and these sticks work great and about to load my board with another 2 just cause the price is right.

Cons: NADA

Other Thoughts: Outside of size which for me was fine I knew what I was getting into they run a little hot for me as I like to keep things really cool in my machine. I advise getting the cooling system but not needed.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome RAM

Pros: This RAM is really good i mean it's DDR2 800 and what sets it appart at this point is cooling and timings, this has both. It's got those awesome dominator heatsings that don't just look cool but actually work in keeping RAM cool even when OC'ed. The 4-4-4-12 timings also are really good.

Cons: Nothing really. it's great RAM for the price i got it for. I wish 4GB kits came this low! which i think some do.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recomend spening the extra $20 and getting the DOMINATOR RAM fan beacuse it's a worthwhile envesment to keep ur components cool since the less heat in one component means the less heat to disperse in your case so it lowers ur overall temps. Other than that great RAM to OC from but if u really want to get serious i suggest the 1066Mhz sticks, or if ur MoBo can handle it, the 1200Mhz sticks, which i should of gotten but i have 2 other DRR2 800 sticks and i didn't want those to go to waste plus i don't have the money right now. -=GA X48-DS4|Intel Q6600|PNY Optima + Crosair DDR800=4GB RAM. 5 out of 5 eggsBest Memory per $ on the planet

Pros: I bought 2 sticks of this 2 years ago and two more 2 weeks ago. It is fantastic. Newegg was great to work with, as usual. the package arrived sooner than expected

Cons: None. People getting bad sticks should make sure they are grounded, and following directions! Corsair sells great memory.

Other Thoughts: 1. Ground yourself EVERY time before you touch the RAM, including unpacking
2. For an invaluable source of info on RAM, go to the Corsair help forum and read the Ram Guy's stickey posts. Go to asktheramguy.com.
3. Lower Cas latency is faster than clock speed of RAM. In other words, 800 @ 4-4-4-12 2T is slightly faster than 1066 @ 5-5-5-18 2T. This ram is a great investment. I was going to upgrade to 4 gig of 1066 5-5-5-18 . After researching and discovering this fact, I simply added 2 sticks of this 800 4-4-4-12. Hallelujah! I saved a bunch of money.
4. TESTING If you are upgrading from 2 to 4 gigs by adding 2 Gigs, you must match your memory type. the best way to test it is to take out your existing 2 sticks and put the new sticks (the same type as the old ones) in their same slots. All parameters are thus the same. Boot, check size and timings with CPU-Z, and record. then test the memory with Memtest86. You can tell immediatly if it is good! Then add old ones.

4 out of 5 eggsThis RAM has gotten a somewhat undeserved bad rap...

Pros: Stable, good heat dissipation, tight timings. See "Other Thoughts" below.

Cons: This is actually the 2nd set I received. One of the sticks in the first set was DOA and had to be RMA'd. From reading various online forums, this seems to be a common problem with this memory. I begrudgingly paid the $8 for RMA shipping but it ended up being worth it - these sticks outperform both of the brands I was using before.

Other Thoughts: Yes, these sticks are made with Promos IC's rather than Micron. No, they won't run CL4 timings above 800Mhz with any reliability.

However, if you have an AMD Athlon like me, getting to a higher frequency is less important than keeping timings tight. I put this memory in a system with an AMD Athlon XP 5200+ that I had previously tested vigorously to find it's max OC regardless of memory.

Running at 3120Mhz (240*13), I started out the memory at 891Mhz/CL5 and it ran fine. It wouldn't run CL4 at 891Mhz but it would run CL4 at 780Mhz. Dropping the memory divider further allowed me to use CL3 timings, but the really good thing is that this memory could do 1T command rate at 624Mhz, something none of the other memories I've tested could do.

In benchmarking, CL3/1T at 624Mhz outperformed both CL4/2T at 780Mhz and CL5/2T at 891Mhz. This result is consistent with the vast majority of research I've done the web - the Athlon chipsets prefer tight timings over high memory frequ

2 out of 5 eggsObsolete Memory

Pros: If it is not DOA maybe it will be better.

Cons: One stick was DOA, waited for Newegg CS to reply, finally went through Corsair and got it RMA'd right away.

Other Thoughts: According to Corsair this is obsolete memory and RMA will be 6400C4DHX. Save your headache and get the DHX instead of taking a chance.

3 out of 5 eggsWhat's happening to Corsair?

Pros: Good ram on a rebate. I'm not sure if it's worth the original price or not.

Cons: I spent 30 minutes cleaning dried hot glue slivers off the contacts before I installed it.

Other Thoughts: What's going on with this company? If I had paid full price for this, I'd have given them a 1. Recently, they almost tricked me into buying a 16gb red GT flash drive until I realized that they had started making that GT with the slower mlc chips and failed to mention that it really wasn't a GT anymore. I hope they pull it together. Maybe they should just make power supplies.
