4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: Very easy to install, just plugged in and away it went. I have an EVGA 780i mobo, and was having issues with my old memory. this was the second fastest memory on the compatibility list from nvidia, so I got it, expecting it to work better, but I thought there would be some issues remaining - turns out I was wrong, everything worked just fine!

Cons: the default operating speed that most mobo's run this memory at is probably 800Mhz (it was for mine anyway). In order to run faster, it has to be manually configured in the bios, which is no problem in itself. However, it can't quite run at the reported 1142Mhz @2.1V, so it has to be just a tad higher voltage, otherwise the max is 1100Mhz (I had to unlink the FSB and Memory clocks btw)

I suppose this isn't really a con, and it didn't give me and troubles, but it may prove confusing to those who are new to system building.

Other Thoughts: Very happy with the memory, and the design fits my case fine, I have had very good luck with corsair so far - both with affordable and high-performance memory.

3 out of 5 eggsInstability

Pros: Great for SLI System and great on price.

Cons: Attack of the Blue Screen - EVGA 680i MoBo hated this memory. It would not post, i had to under-clock the memory to get windos to run. After some teaking of the Latencies i got it to stay stable at 1000MHz.

Other Thoughts: Experienced users will know how to deal with this mem.

3 out of 5 eggsDominator

Pros: Fast ram but have had to rma 2 sticks.

Cons: Customer service is lacking...slow on replacing. With a lifetime warranty seems there would be an easier way to replace.

1 out of 5 eggsDominator will Dominate

Pros: It worked for a while, but never to specks

Cons: Corsair doesn't have any more of it, so if you think you are getting a lifetime replacement of any of it, you are just plain out of luck like I am. They say that they have no more and wanted to replace it with ram that cost pennies on the dollar compared to this Ram.

Other Thoughts: Last dealings ever with corsair. RMA process has taken or seems like it has taken forever, just to find out that they don't even have any of it to replace it with. That is terrible, they could have let me known that right off the bat

5 out of 5 eggsGood RAM

Pros: Great RAM, though advertised for the 680i platform, will work with more up to date platforms. When I first installed it my BIOS downclocked it to 800MHz, all that needed to be done was a few simple tweaks and BAM! Done deal, works great and have had no problems.

Cons: Corsair does not specificaly advertise on their website that this ram is compadible with my XFX 780i mobo.

Other Thoughts: Be carefull when you select RAM for a build and make sure you go over everything in your BIOS before installing an OS to make sure everything runs at its advertised speed.

5 out of 5 eggsStill ticking

Pros: Excellent fast ram. No problems as of yet.

Cons: When I first built the system, I installed ntune and it forced the ram back down to 800mhz and 1.9 volts. However, this was not by fault of the ram. I had to uninstall ntune and enable sli-memory through the bios and it reset the ram to its stock settings.

Other Thoughts: Some of the coolest looking ram I've seen. No need to overclock it, its fast enough as it is. Too much oc'ing these days and is most likely the cause of 90% of the bad reviews u see.

3 out of 5 eggsBless Corsairs Warranty

Pros: Corsair offers a Lifetime warranty that can not be beat! Their "RAM Guy" is very helpful too.

Cons: 3rd RMA in 11 months... unless I under clock these sticks to 800mhz, I get all kinds of weird symptoms; I actually thought I had a new variant of the old Sasser worm when I began my troubleshooting.

Other Thoughts: Get some more reliable RAM and spend the would-be-RMA-time doing whatever it is you enjoy.

5 out of 5 eggs....not just for 680i

Pros: High clock speed capability will surely make any overclocking venture easier to sail. This memory may be marketed for use with the 680i, but it will work with other systems which is great for Intel chipsets that do not have low multipliers. Have tested this up to 500Mhz bus speed on Asus P5B Deluxe and Abit IP5 Pro.

Cons: Trade off: High Bus speed for High Latency and of course the increased voltages.

Other Thoughts: Start slow when overclocking and have a bootable CD with Memtest ready to go. CHeck your overclock with Memtest BEFORE you get to the OS desktop. This simple step can save you a LOT of hassle when trying to peg down an overclock.

4 out of 5 eggsGood memory, but may have some problems

Pros: Stays cool, performs well.

Cons: Not sure if this a fault of the memory, or if it is with my 680i motherboard, or even with Windows Vista.... but running it at 1143 MHz causes my video card to lock up, and Vista will report that the 8800 Ultra video card is not responding. When I run it at 800 MHz, it runs fine. I have the latest drivers for my motherboard and videocard, latest BIOS, but it still does that. I haven't really been able to take advantage of the SLI memory.

Other Thoughts: The thought of running this at a faster speed sounds good, but I wasn't able to have a lot of success with it.

2 out of 5 eggsgood ram

Pros: fast ram, runs stock at 1142 on 680i mobo

Cons: ordered two sets of this ram only finding out you cant run 4gigs of this ram at 1142, took a loss on the second set and returned it. after 2 months one stick died, rma and took corsair about 3 weeks to post the package was recieved even tho i overnighted it to them, about another 3 weeks before they sent a new pair, after about a month of running the rma'ed set, the ram went bad again caused a bios rom check sum error, after rma the mobo found ram caused the error, currently in the rma process again, lets see how long it takes this time, already 4 weeks down. ran both sets of this ram on stock timmings and voltages

Other Thoughts: tired of waiting, ordered two sets of crucial ballistix for vista 64bit. i would look into another set of ram and oc them instead of these
