4 out of 5 eggsWorked in a Dell Optiplex 320

Pros: cheap, good name, boosted computer from a stock 256MB??? to 1GB and it became a new computer

Cons: windows blue screened at the first boot up, but has been fine since

4 out of 5 eggsIt worked

Pros: Alright so, it worked well, no bsod recognized by bios right away, boot into system fine, vista recognizes, everything is alright and I'm topped up to 3gigs of ram on my 32bit os.

Cons: Um, I might need to OC it I guess, even though I didn't want to, MY windows user index rating subscore for ram operations drop from 5.5 to 5.4, but I see no difference in performance, good or bad as of yet.

Other Thoughts: I've been upgrading parts for my dell inpsiron 530, psu, heatsink, graphics card, etc(Yeah, I wasted my money buying a dell lulz) and I wanted to bring up my ram to 3 gigs because I noticed how whatever recent game I ran, it would basically suck up all the ram and leave me with around 200mb, I thought I would get a slight performance boost, alt tabing, boot up etc, but we'll see, it's too early to tell as of yet.

5 out of 5 eggsUnbeatable Value

Pros: Tremendous performance to price ratio. Every pair, for me, has done 800Mhz @ 5-5-5-15 2T with no voltage increase. The memory performs reliably and without error at these speeds. Heat spreaders look and stay cool.

Cons: Few BIOS' will be able to automatically clock these sticks correctly ,mostly due to a wierd quotient (675Mhz), and especially if your CPU uses a "Half Multiplier" ie 12.5 = 2.5Ghz. Out of half a dozen pairs, two sticks did not initially work, but just clean the contacts with 90% or greater alcohol and a GENTLE tweek to the heat spreader and viola!, they were back in business.

Other Thoughts: Novice users may have a hard time getting the full potential out of this memory. But for those who don't mind going into the BIOS and playing around, they will do much more than advertised. Personally I've maxed them at 870Mhz CAS 5 @2.1V and if I had more time to play with timinigs im sure they could go higher. For under $15 thats though to beat.

3 out of 5 eggsGood if it works

Pros: Bought this memory 2 years ago with no problems. Bought another pair this month but one of the sticks stopped working after a few days.

Cons: Bad if you get a stick that does not work. Sucks paying return shipping on something this cheap. Probably not worth the hassle.

1 out of 5 eggsBoth sticks DOA

Pros: They LOOKED nice

Cons: Booted into XP once, crashed after 2 minutes of runtime. Subsequent boots just caused the motherboard to beep, beep, beep. I isolated each stick and both sticks individually caused this issue.

Other Thoughts: Newegg doesn't give you a hassle for RMA process, but when you're buying an inexpensive item, return shipping adds up to a good portion of the cost of the item you are RMAing. I think newegg should pay for return shipping for clearly defective items.

Manufacturer Response:

We test ever XMS module by hand before shipping. This makes me suspect some component other than the memory. Please contact us if you have additional issues after your RMA and we'll be happy to assist you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ram

Pros: Had this RAM for almost 3 years. Never so much as a hickup. Ran easily from day 1, no crashing, never really hot.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Corsair is fantastic! 3 sets of RAM, never a problem.

1 out of 5 eggsNewegg good, Corsair bad

Pros: one stick worked

Cons: one stick sucked

Other Thoughts: Ordered product Thursday, received Monday with Eggsaver shipping, very cheap and fast. So Newegg held up their end. Tried each stick and both sticks in various combinations on two different compatible Dell machines. One stick always worked, one always failed. Called Corsair, who refused to pay for return shipping or do anything else. They claim they test each module rigorously. Obviously not. I shouldn't have to pay return shipping on something that never worked to begin with. Will never buy Corsair again.

5 out of 5 eggsRam Is where you see system speed increase

Pros: Ram works great does everything I wanted it to and then some, overclock is pretty good

Cons: Had to do an rma for this product, no suprise to me since it would not be the first time it happend with memory. One stick was good, one stick was bad. I got the same product because I stand with corsair any day. The second set I got worked great!!
