Started off great
- Pros: When first received, everything worked as expected. Relatively fast file transfers and of course the size is great. Formatted to NTFS just fine.
- Cons: The product stopped working after a couple of weeks of moderate use. The drive was always kept in a bag with one other usb drive and handled with appropriate care.
- Other Thoughts: This seems like a very good drive and my experience may have just been a fluke. It was much bigger than other usb drives in physical size. Appearance looks as though it came from a dollar store. (Plastic enclosure)
Fast and neat!! Works great up to 98%, FDISK fixes to 100%
- Pros: If you've got the money and are thinking about a 4G unit, buy this instead! 8G Flash storage, fast, neat! Works pefectly under Win32/Linux as FAT32 LBA (not CHS, the factory default, see below!) Supposed to work as additional encrypted swap under MS Vista; I'm **NOT GOING** to run Vi$ta, so don't care. Can format as NTFS, but you'll need Linux NTFS kernel write modules; FAT32 is easier. This unit is 2x as big but 2x as fast as their 4M unit; see vendors spec page. Neck strap detactable and reasonable. 7.63G usable space, static USB2 male connector. Red LED flashes on activity, dimmer is more. Comes with seperate 6" USB extension.
- Cons: NO PHYSICAL WRITE PROTECT SWITCH. Unit is a bit physically oversized, this might be a problem unless you use the (seperate) cable! Cap top seperates and can be lost -- it has no tether. Partition incorrectly sized, see below. Don't like the free included Win32 software. Red light flashes on activity, where are the green and blue LEDs? Not free. USB male connector not gold plated. Package too hard to open. Not bulletproof. No faceplace to replace silver color. Doesn't scrape off dried food from dishes very well. Instruction book comes in too many languages, I can't tell which one is mine. Doesn't come when I whistle. Unit can be used by terrorists! Enclosed CD is too small. It ONLY has a lifetime warranty -- what if Heaven has USB ports, are they still going to support it? It breaks in too many pieces when you force it open. If you've gotten this far, then read the first 3 lines again, think; then buy it. Not HDMI compatable. Doesn't include batteries. Doesn't store 2 entire DVDs.
- Other Thoughts: Warning! At first I thought I had a bad unit, all was good but was getting errors on Linux/WXP when the unit was almost (98%) full. NOT THE PROBLEM -- the Factory partition table (FAT32 CHS) is wrong! !!!POSSIBLE DATA LOSS -- RTFineM BEFORE YOU DO THIS!!! Once I partitioned under Linux (FAT32 LBA) and formatted under WXP, all works great! Ran an overnight test copying files around and checking MD5SUMs, everything matches like it should.
Great Drive
- Pros: Works well with Windows and OSX

Lanyard has a clip to take the drive off/put it back on

Large cap = hard to lose
~2 minutes to transfer 1GB
Software didn't come preinstalled, but still came with it on a mini-cd
USB extension cable (useful to extend a rear/hard to reach USB to the front
Lots of space (at current prices, get an external HD if you want more than 8GBs)
Light weight
- Cons: Plastic
88 x 33 x 15 mm is not tiny.
The lanyard is a little difficult to install because of a hole just behind the lanyard loop (I used a large pin to pull it through)
The plastic lanyard loop could break easily as can the plastic clip on the lanyard
