5 out of 5 eggsPatriot Signature 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) System Memory Model PSD2G400KH

Pros: Works great

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Bought this for an older gentleman that was tired of waiting for his pc to load. LITERALLY took 30 minutes to load google home page. He had 1/2gb of mem, he now has 4gb and pages only take about 30 seconds to load. He is a happy old man now with an equally old (in tech terms) pc. :D

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: This is a late review, but wanted to add my two cents. Bought 5 sets of these on August 25th, 2008. Used them all with no ill effects for 3 years in Intel P4 MoBo's. Broke these systems down and have been selling off these RAM modules during PC repairs and they are still working great. Just recently installed 2 sets, for a total of 4GB, into a aging Compaq with a factory installed ASUS MoBo and it woke this PC right up! Loved using this memory the entire time I've owned them. I will be a repeat Patriot user in the future.

Cons: They weren't free! LoL But you get what you pay for, ya know?

Other Thoughts: Four wheelin in a canoe sucks when your wings fall off! :)

1 out of 5 eggsFlakey Boards

Pros: None.

Cons: Memory causes system to intermintantly reboot at various times whether running applications or sitting idol. Replaced new Patriot memory with the old memory boards and system runs fine.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded ASUS A8N-SLI Premium MB from 2 GB to 4 GB memory; all with new boards. Upgraded OS from XP to Vista which was the reason for purchasing the additional memory. System runs fine with the Vista load on it with the old memory. I doubt I'd buy Patriot Memory again.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear that you had some issues with our memory. If you just purchased the memory, we recommend going through the reseller for warranty. Otherwise you may process the warranty through us, and we'll be glad to take care of this for you.

Best Regards,

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: It works in my old AMD 939 socket Asus mobo until I upgrade to Sandy Bridge when that's fixed. Increased my speed some and cut back on CPU usage somewhat.
Not that it's particularly germane to the computers actual functioning, but it looks great. Very pretty blue color and great graphic logo on the heat sink.

Cons: The usual grouse or complaint about the cost for memory this old if not out of date.

Other Thoughts: Interesting install problem with my video card (workstation type card, PNY Quadro NVS 440). I installed the new RAM in slots 2 and 4 along side the older Corsair Ram (same CAS, same voltage, same timings), turned the computer back on and got the long and 2 short beeps for video card fail or something. Reseated the video card and all the connections, turned it back on,...nothing. Removed the Patriot ram, card worked. Tried changing the ram into different slots, no soap. The next morning, tried the new Patriot RAM by itself in slots 1 and 3, no beeps, video worked. Then installed old Corsair RAM in slots 2 and 4 and everything worked, video on. Good mystery lesson for me. Maybe it was all my fault from the beginning or theres something I don't know about RAM here. Everything fine now. Still love the egg.

1 out of 5 eggsOne stick DOA

Pros: Good timings, nice cooler

1 out of 5 eggsBoth modules failed after 6 weeks

Pros: Worked great for first 5 weeks then a system slow down was noticed then the system started to randomly reboot itself.

Cons: Both modules have been tested and both throw errors as soon as the test starts...

Other Thoughts: Since this is after the 30 days I can't get a replacement set. I guess you get what you pay for. Going back to Corsair memory. Never had a problem with their products.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear pcoats,

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Please rest assured that all Patriot Modules are 100% hand tested to ensure quality and complete compatibility. All of our memory is also backed by a lifetime warranty. Please don't hesitate to contact support@patriotmem.com to attempt to troubleshoot the issue. If we cannot resolve your issue, we will gladly exchange the memory under warranty terms.

Sincere Regards,
Patriot Memory Support

3 out of 5 eggsYou never know

Pros: Nice looking, great price. Installed in old m380n Media Center. Works great!

Cons: Took a long time to figure out why I got the dreaded BLUE SCREEN of death! I uninstalled programs, bought graphics cards, TV Tuners. Finally I put the old Kingston memory in and BAM! It worked. 1 of 4 memory sticks was bad!

Other Thoughts: hp m380n Media Center, GeForce 6200, 500GB WD HDD, Windows 7 OS.

3 out of 5 eggsRec'd Bad Set of RAM

Pros: Good when it works. I have used this brand before. The PC I was upgrading already had two sticks of this, that was three years old and always worked good.

Cons: I received a bad set of RAM. Would cause Windows 7 64-bit to crash with a blue screen. Was very hard to detect though. RMA'd through NewEgg.

Other Thoughts: This memory would test good with the Windows 7 memory test, which caused me to look at other items instead of the RAM. Replacing the Patriot with the identical G. Ski-- brand solved the crashes. I also tried bumping the voltage a notch, but that did not help, only made things worse. I think I just got a bad batch.
