1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Used to work I guess

Cons: The plastic just falls apart after just 2 months. Worst part is some of the broken plastic pieces are bouncing around in my camera. I am so furious !!!! Cant believe the manufacturers can save that much on plastic.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear zink,

I'm sorry to hear that you had some issues with your card falling apart. Please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll be glad to expedite a return for your item.

Sincere Regards,
Benjamin

1 out of 5 eggsCrooks! Be aware of rebate bait

Pros: Nothing in particular!

Cons: Absolute crooks. They have a very questionable rebate process and come up with ludicrous excuses to deny an advertised rebate. I registered online for my most recent rebate, and submitted a copy of the online rebate form. They obviously received that because it has all my info (including email address) and they so ridiculously claim that I did not submit a form. Where the h*** did you get my email address if I did not submit a form?

Other Thoughts: The Patriot people have proven again and again that they do not honor their advertised rebates and they use the rebate trap/bait only to cheat the customers.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear PA,

I'm very sorry to hear that your submission was rejected; please feel free to contact us at rebates@patriotmem.com or 866-942-4682 and we'll be glad to look into the matter.

Sincere Regards,

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Card

Pros: The card performs well as per specs. Class 6 is supposed to be 6 MB/s but this card always performs above that. My last transfer of 70+ images (16 MPix RAW files from a DSLR) transferred from card reader to internal hard drive at 9MB/s. Great price and decent speeds.

Cons: Plastic seems flimsy. Unlike other folks who have complained about the card "falling apart" or "shattering" one of my two cards separated along the side and rear seam. The other card hasn't done it yet. Submitted RMA to Patriot.

This is a pretty big issue for me as this could end up costing me access to images. Luckily I was able to get all my images out.

Other Thoughts: As a pro photographer, fast transfers are critical, from both camera to card and from card to computer. This card works well for most of my needs. The only time speed has been an issue for me has been when shooting fast bursts or video, where I get to wait for the camera to save. Again, not the card's fault if your camera is dumping 16+ MPixel images or HD video faster than the card can handle.

3 out of 5 eggsnot so fast

Pros: $8 after rebate. Functions.

Cons: Slow writes.

Other Thoughts: I've been collecting SDHC cards and testing for performance. This one has very slow writes in my HD camcorder. No other card that I've tried pauses to catch up the way this one does after shooting video. Functionally fine, works great otherwise. Not TOO bad for $8 after rebate. I've gone to SDHC for archival purposes instead of DVD etc...

2 out of 5 eggsFast But Poor Build Quality

Pros: Pretty fast, always formats no read or write errors over a year using 4 cards.

Cons: I bought 4 of these cards nearly a year ago. I used them in 2 cameras with 2 card readers. Only my wife and I used them and within 2 months the first card cracked. The Plastic around the contact pins cracked then the corner just fell off. I did not think much of it but over the next 6 months the 3 other cards I bought also fell apart in the same way. I have sense been using kingston cards and they seem to be built with better/tuffer plastic.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We will be glad to replace the card(s) for you under warranty terms. To expedite the exchange, please contact support@patriotmem.com.

2 out of 5 eggsNot as fast as it states

Pros: Very good solid storage.

Cons: Extremely slow class 6 card

Other Thoughts: I bought this to go along with my Sony TX7 mainly to shoot and store my camera's HD content. At first i was very excited for up grading from a class 4 PNY to a class 6 Patriot flash card. The first thing that i notice was very slow writing speed and transfer rates.Even slower than my class 4 PNY. Would not recommend shooting AVCHD on this card. THis is why i rate this card with 2 eggs.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

If you are having trouble with the performance of the card, please don't hesitate to contact support@patriotmem.com and one of our reps will be glad to assist you in the matter.

Thank Your for choosing Patriot Memory!

Patriot Support
