Excellent Jumpdrive
- Pros: Fast! I benchmarked and compared against a generic 2GB drive. The Patriot Drive performed on HD Tach: 31.2 MB/s Avg Read - 10MB/s Avg Write. Generic drive 17.6 MB/s Avg Read - 2.4MB/s Avg Write.
- Cons: I agree with the other reviewer that the rubber loop to which the lanyard attaches should be stronger. So don't yank the drive out by the lanyard.
- Other Thoughts: As a network engineer I need a lot of portable apps to do my juob. This drive is speedy and roomy. Newegg service just rocks. Order arrived a day early. I am a frequent NewEgg customer. Both drives were formated NTFS.

- Pros: excellent flash drive
- Cons: gets dusty
- Other Thoughts: if you get the WRITE PROTECTED error, it means your file is too big for the FAT32 file system. it happened to me when i tried to transfer a file larger than 4GB, if you keep your file under 4 gb then it'll work. ALTERNATIVELY, you can format the drive in NTFS format to put files 4GB or larger, however, with NTFS you're going to have to "safely remove" the drive each time because NTFS does disk caching

A good choice
- Pros: It doesn't have drops like the corsair flash voyager I've been using over the last year. The speeds are constant and a few megs faster. Not breath taking like a SSD compare to a HDD, so if you don't need to make a change, I wouldn't recommend it. If you are a first time buyer, then I'd recommend getting the Patriot.
- Cons: If you nit pick little things, then yeah, the cap doesn't magically return to the device when not in use. The little rubber part that you connect the lanyard to isn't bullet proof, and it can't go faster than what a USB bus allows for.
For those high tech knowledge people that can't understand. 480Mbps is not the same as 480MB/s
8 bits in a Byte. 480/8 is 60MB/s...
If you are in need of speed, start researching eSata and Solid State Disk. USB can't compare to eSata speeds no matter what device you hook up to USB. Keep this in mind if you are thinking of using Readyboost. If your system is old. 5400RPM HDD and 1 or 2GB DDR2 then you may benifit using Readyboost. If you want to spend money on speed, get a fast SSD. ZOOM!
- Other Thoughts: I haven't used customer support on Patriot, but I have with Corsair on some memory a few years ago and they were great! I only tried Patriot this round because of the positive reviews, and I wanted a flash memory stick for my DVD player to use. After testing my 8GB Flash Voyager and this unit, Patriot won both the test I've ran. Corsair dropped a few times and halfway through the test, it stayed at it's drop for the remaining part of the test. However being a few years old, it may not be that fair of a test. Patriot being brand new stayed constant with a few megs higher in speed than Corsair.
great drive
- Pros: works great, fast, and at a good price
- Cons: they USB plug could be a little stronger
Fast Sturdy Drive
- Pros: I am booting Ubuntu Linux from this drive. It's mad fast and I often prefer it to running Windows natively on my slow work computer. The design in very sturdy, which is wonderful.
- Cons: The cap fits awkwardly and I lost it, which is fine, because the drive lives plugged in the tower.
- Other Thoughts: I would buy this drive again.
