Other Thoughts: I bought a set of these to upgrade an old P4 motherboard that had both DDR2 and DDR memory slots. The board actually only supported DDR2 533 memory (when using DDR2 memory, versus DDR1), but the bios allowed the DDR2 memory to be overclocked to 600 MHz. Since I wanted as much speed as possible, I bought these DDR2 sticks rated at 667 MHz so that when the motherboard "overclocked" them to 600 MHz, they would effectively be running underclocked. (This seemed like a better idea than buying 533 MHz RAM and pushing it beyond it's rated speed.) These chips are now about 3 years old and still run flawlessly. That old P4 system just doesn't know when to quit ... CoD4 runs like a dream on it ... despite the hardware being many many generations behind the current stuff out there. Dell Dimension 4700. My system was faster with this memory (1gig of the two) than with my original 512Meg. I'd recommend it. I have a Quad Core2 (Q6600) system with 4Gig of OCZ and that ROCKS. OCZ Customer/Technical support is excellent. Can be overclocked (I didn't do this on my machine). Cons: I have an eMachine that would only work if I put 1GB (this was back in April) When I tried both cards Vista would freeze up during log in. I called OCZ tech support and they tried everything they could think of to get this to work, but could not get it working. I just applied the latest service pack for Vista and decided to try the memory card. Turned out to be a Vista is a piece of junk of an O/S problem. With the latest SP for Vista it boots up fine. The fan now kicks on or goes into overdrive; so sometimes the O/S will not respond for a 1/2 second which is annoying, but it is an eMachine. Also because of this I do not dare to overclock the memory. Other Thoughts: eMachine's tech support is junk. Wouldn't talk to me because the computer was past warranty date. If you have an eMachine w/ Vista and you buy this memory make sure you have the latest Vista SP. As mentioned above the OCZ techs. spent a lot of time trying to fix a problem which in the end was a Vista/Microsoft blunder. Did you find this review helpful?
