5 out of 5 eggsBuy it.

Pros: Incredibly fast memory, great for overclocking, and (most importantly) works "as advertised". Refreshing to find a product that actually lives up to its marketing hype.

Cons: Expensive, but this seems to be the trend with all DDR. No matter, this is worth the investment if you are seeking to extend the life cycle of this generation of hardware.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and Furious

Pros: Had these sticks for quite a while, and still perform very fast!

If you need some great DDR RAM look no further.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I thought I had a bad stick but just bad seating, so my fault not the products.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat DDR Memory

Pros: The price on this memory was great, $55 after the rebate. This memory works flawlessly at 2-3-2-5 @ 333mhz. (My mobo doesn't support 400mhz) Also, the mirror finish heatspreaders look cool, too bad my case isn't windowed.

Cons: For some, the heat spreaders could be a little bulky, but I haven't had any problems. I just left an empty slot between the modules.

Other Thoughts: I got these about a year and a half ago from Newegg. They've been working great the whole time. Definitely an improvement over 1gb mixed memory.

I didn't have any problems with the rebate, it took a while to get, but then again, most rebates are like that.

Mobo: Abit AT7 Max
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2000+ T-Bred @ 2.08ghz
GPU: Sapphire Radeon 2600XT 512mb
RAM: 2gb OCZ Platinum

Scores a 3500 with 3DMark06.

5 out of 5 eggsNew speed for finicky old system

Pros: Pairs are well matched
Works great on old AMD Athlon 64 boards/CPUs that are very particular about matched memory
Hit advertised timings without issues
Pretty much the sole surviving retail "performance" DDR out there

Cons: Bit pricey compared to DDR2, but way cheaper than 2gb would've cost back in the day
Bulky heat shield can cause fit issues

Other Thoughts: My old Shuttle's got an nForce 3 150 mobo that wouldn't run at DDR 400 with a pair of Corsair sticks. Compared a lot of different kinds of RAM, finally went with these. Glad I did because I'm finally running at 400. If you're refusing to fall for the latest and greatest upgrade trap, these things will tide you over and then some

1 out of 5 eggsBeware if matching existing pair

Pros: works independently just fine

Cons: doesn't work with the existing pair of OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K
that i already had. (2 x 1GB).

Other Thoughts: The packaging says that it's OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K
but my computer identifies it as something different (using System Information for Windows, for example). So i don't know if it's something somebody else returned to Newegg and they turned around and pawned it off on me or what, but with their no return policy i'm stuck having wasted 80 some bucks on memory i can't use. I have a DFI LN4 Lanparty UT motherboard and apparently they need to be exact matches, which these aren't despite being labeled as exactly the same. Buying from Newegg is no better than buying from some stranger online these days it seems.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are not sure what info you are seeing, but this memory should be as marked. When running 4 sticks, be sure to turn CPC OFF in your BIOS. This may solve your problem. Having owned your motherboard, I can say that sometimes you must have exactly the same memory, right down to the chip revision level, or it may not run all sticks together. Over time chips can change, in part due to availability. If you are still having problems (after turning CPC OFF in BIOS), please visit the link below and create a support ticket. Mention your issue, and let them know that you were sent by the OCZ rep at Newegg for help with getting a matching set of four sticks.
Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsReally Quick

Pros: Took out the stock memory and put this memory in and what a difference it made in performance. I ended up buying more so that I had 4 gigs and this stuff really sped up my system. No need to go purchase another one anymore.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsnew life to old system

Pros: Bought two of these and maxed my old system out at 4 GB running windows 7 64 bit. Just awesome, especially with the price. Saved me from buying a whole new computer just because everything is DDR2 now.

Cons: Just a tad slower than my old Corsair XXL but I also paid four times as much for that stuff years ago.

Other Thoughts: Thanks OCZ for making DDR memory and keeping my ld system going strong.

5 out of 5 eggsPerformance

Pros: Works Beautifully. I mean that both literally and figuratively, even with the troubles listed below this ram would still boot and try to work.

Cons: Something went wonky with my system. Mobo IDE channel, all IDE drives, and the first stick of this memory all went bad. Everything else simply did not work at all. The bad stick would work ok, until pushed by high-end graphics apps.

Other Thoughts: Still don't know what went wrong, system is plugged into a surge suppressor and uses wireless internet. Will be following up on the bad stick with OCZ support and report back on how that turns out.

3 out of 5 eggsForget about rebate

Pros: Excellent memory and give my old PC extra life.

Cons: Rebate is a joke. My rebate form was send back to me saying not deliverable after 3 months.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are sorry that your letter was returned. As OCZ has nothing to do with letter delivery, this sounds like a post office issue. We will be happy to look into this for you, and see what can be done. Please email rebates@ocztechnology.com and include you full name, address, product and date purchased. If you can include a scan of your returned letter, that would be of help.
Thank you

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works as expected. The extra ram really improves overall system responsiveness. It looks cool, too.

Cons: Somewhat bulky and heavy. Can be tricky to insert them into the slots if you're pressed for space inside the tower or if you have chubby fingers.

Other Thoughts: Thank you Newegg.com for quickly delivering yet another fine product!
