HOT and HOT!
- Pros: This RAM runs 2-2-2-5 1T with no problems (other than having to bump the voltage up, which isn't really a problem)! I like the gold look too! I can't believe Newegg is bringing it back, I am definitely gonna buy another set before I upgrade to AM2/DDR2 eventually.
- Cons: Runs awefully hot with the tight timings. However I don't really need to worry about that with my GeminII directly overhead!
- Other Thoughts: Buy them
Fast and stable.
- Pros: I upgrade from an old no-name DDR 2700 512MB to this 3200 512mbx2 and am very pleased. memtest86 ran without a single error. Windows boots so much faster, my games start up much quicker (especially BF2). Oddly the upgrade didn't effect my 3dmark score much. My timings are 3-3-3-5, but I think with some BIOS tweaking I'll be able to get it close to the specs.
- Cons: None, works great.
- Other Thoughts: Almost wish I had bought 2x1gb instead of 2x512mb. :)
Extremely quick
- Pros: I have one of these sticks (other went bad) running at 1-2-0-2-1T timings at 208 mhz at 3.1Volts on a DFI Lanparty board. So at least by themselves i know that the timings will absolutely scream with extra voltage, and IMO, it maintains an acceptable temperature level at that.
- Cons: one of the sticks went bad on me, i found, sometimes my memtest 86 would run fine and others it would turn up errors, finally isolated the problem to one stick and tossed it =(
- Other Thoughts: if your going to apply excess voltage i would recommend having a dedicated case fan blowing across the modules
