Top Quality RAM that Works!
- Pros: I bought this to replace 4x1GB sticks of Ram that would not run at the advertised speed. I put these new G.Skill 2x2GB sticks in, ran memtest v3.4 and they passed at 1068MHz at 2.1 volts. The heatsink on this ram will allow you to install 4 sticks 4x2GB without having any problems. If you want to run 2x2GB sticks of rams for a 64-bit OS at DDR2-1066 then this is the RAM to get.

- Other Thoughts: Save yourself the trouble and get 2x2GB sticks not 4x1GB sticks.

- Pros: Bought 2 sets for 8GB, FOR GIGABYTE MA790FX-DS5, CPU=Phenom 9600 Black Edition. I am able to run all 8GB at 1066MHZ, O.S=VISTA ULTIMATE_X64. EVEREST ULTIMATE shows, mem timings as 5-7-7-20, 2T And memclock at 536MHZ.

Another Review + Price Changes
- Pros: Stable: Have been running at 5-5-5-15 1066MHz since February of this year without a problem and recently changed to 5-5-5-12 with 0 stability problems.
Plays well: Running 4x2GB (4 sticks)
Great Color: the silver is actually chrome and the blue matches several components on the Gigabyte EP45 UD3P/R boards.
- Cons: Heatspreaders. I've taken mine out a few times and noticed on the sticks that one side has come off. Even with this, the RAM runs fine. They do put out a bit of heat but I live in a cooler place and made a bracket for fans to blow on them.

- Other Thoughts: Price has gone way up since I bought these over 9 months ago. I thought computer components went down in price as time goes on. These have almost doubled in price! Newegg seems to do this a lot. When I was looking for RAM back in February, some ram kits went up and down $20 or so. I guess it's a game but just be aware and watch prices a couple weeks before a purchase. Having said this though, I'll still buy from Newegg without hesitation.
All in all, I couldn't have asked for better ram. The speed, size and stability are just amazing.
Excellent when you get it to see the 1066
- Pros: The ram is excellent once you get your Gygabyte mobo to see it as DDR2 1066 instead of DDR2 800. Supper fast.
- Cons: For some reason some mobo's have a hard time seeing the ram as DDR2 1066. Not sure if it's the ram or the mobo's causing the problem. See my other thought below for the solution.
- Other Thoughts: This seems to be a common combination that people have trouble running at DDR2 1066, so I have decided to help out by posting what worked for my GIGABYTE GA-MA790GP-UD4H mobo.
Make sure to have the latest, or BIOS version.
The memory should be installed in the yellow slots, slot 1 and slot 2.
In BIOS, make sure Memory Frequency is set to [x5.33] 1066 that is of course if your CPU frequency is 200. Then set DCTs Mode to [Unganged]. Next for DDR2 Timing, set to [Manual] and enter these values:
CAS# latency - 5T
RAS to CAS R/W Delay - 5T
Row Precharge Time - 5T
Minimum RAS Active Time - 15T
1T/2T Command Timing - 2T
TwTr Command Delay - 4T
Trfc0 for DIMM1 - 127ns
Trfc2 for DIMM2 - 127ns
Write Recovery Time - 8T
Precharge Time - 3T
Row Cycle Time - 24T (May need to increase up to 42T if unstable)
RAS to RAS Delay - 4T
Increase DDR2 Voltage to 2.1V
Northbridge Volt Control 1.2V (1.4V for 8GB, 4 sticks)
After these settings your computer should be running smoo
GSkill Mem
- Pros: Simply Superb. I had experienced probloms at first, It was BIOs setting. Runs fine over clocked on my ASUS M/board.
- Cons: No
- Other Thoughts: Plan to order more to double mem capacity.
