1 out of 5 eggsCustomer Service DOA

Pros: Came in quickly and without any damage to packaging. As always, New Egg is outstanding

Cons: Well, I only need it as a card reader Don't need esata, don't need USB ... .... just need the card reader. That may be the only part that doesn't work, but it doesn't work.

Called their support, number ... the only thing they don't do is support. "He's at lunch, will be back shortly."

Called again, of course he's in meeting be back at 3:00 ...

Just feel I'm getting the run around.

5 out of 5 eggsI can get an extended warranty? Really?

Pros: Everything works. Does not have a blinding light like some of these I've used. Needs two USB headers and a SATA connector but no power connector.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Fit well in the case. This build needed an E-SATA port so this reader was a no brainier.

Newegg-why would I buy an extended warranty on a $15 item? Come on man.

2 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Lots of cards can be read, Esata.

Cons: Top row requires cards be installed right side up.
Bottom row requires cards be installed upside down.
Talk about confusing!

Can only read ONE card at a time. If you insert two cards or more at the same time the drive appears empty.

Always shows a drive in Windows Explorer.

Requires 2 USB connectors.

Other Thoughts: Find something else.

1 out of 5 eggsUgh

Pros: It was cheap?

Cons: DOA. No power light, no access light, nothing. Came in box with no instructions and the equipment itself was covered in this weird gooey plastic, which I suppose could have been the original packaging but looks like it melted all over it. Had to buy mounting brackets for a 5.25 bay, and after figuring out that puzzle the stupid thing never woke up. Went to the web site to find help and couldn't even find this in their product line.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. I'm going back to my little external CF USB plug.

1 out of 5 eggsCheaply made.

Pros: It arrived with the packaging unscathed, in a timely manner to boot!

Cons: As soon as I got it installed, it broke an SD card, and the face plate fell off.

5 out of 5 eggsStill Going Strong

Pros: I didn't expect much out of this thing when I bought it. It had little to no reviews back then so I figured I'd take one for the team and find out what it looked like. Nearing on four years later with not issues. I use it once or twice a week. I am a photographer so when it sees use, it typically transfers tons of pictures.

Cons: A smidge slower than I'd like it to be but I have no issues with it.

Other Thoughts: I just bought another one for my parent's computer. I figured if I haven't had to fiddle with the thing in three years then I better not hear about the dang thing from my parents.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks but..

Pros: I bought this mainly for the micro SD slot, and the USB was more of a bonus, both functioned as expected.

Cons: When attempting to reinstall windows 7 on my system I found the process to be far more arduous than usually experienced. Times between steps took 40 minutes rather than a minute. After trouble shooting I finally left it to load long enough for the drive selection. This card reader showed up as a 0.0MB / 0.0MB drive. Out of suspicion I unplugged and went on installing windows from the start. Only after unplugging the device did the install function as expected.

Other Thoughts: If you're having trouble installing any OS it may be this reader.
