5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: Another outstanding product from Western Digital!! 7200rpm, fast, super quiet!! $140 for 298 GB of usable storage. No one can beat that with the quality!

Cons: hmm...none that i can think of.

Other Thoughts: If you need extra storage or need to back up your system, this is the one for you!

5 out of 5 eggsgood buy, but not for those with anything less then usb 2

Pros: usb 2, transfer is really fast.
Loads of storage, and easy to reformat with NTFS

Cons: really slow transfers if your stuck with usb 1

Other Thoughts: if your considering lots of portable space, and are still using old usb, not a good buy, but instead start with internal hdd and buy a housing later when you have firewire or usb2.0

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy this product

Pros: Other than having the ability to the spin at 7200rpms, none.

Cons: The hard drive constantly shuts off and on. The unit is flimsy and the hard drive itself is a low end model. This drive has terrible performance and is not worth the price. Please purchase a firewire drive or one of Western Digital's non-usb models.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Drive

Pros: Good price, portability, solid performance

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I use this drive for a Personal Video Recorder, so it is working non-stop, and I have had no problems at all.

5 out of 5 eggsWD is the best

Pros: Western Digital has the best reputation in my book, and this hard drive is a great example of why. Small, quiet, and large, without heat. This drive is priced relativly lower than others.

Cons: I wish it had a 1394 connection as it would be faster... It does seem slow when transferring multiple files.

Other Thoughts: Newegg got it to me promptly as per usual.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: So far so good. I havent owned it for long but I already have half of it full. And havent had a problem transfering yet.

Cons: It gets a bit slow when transfering multiple files. The drive is advertized as 320gigs but its really 298, with a drive this large its not a big deal but still i feel a bit jipped. Plus you can only connect with to a USB.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive!

Pros: I use this drive for backing up my home video. I have over 22 hours of video and made at least 20 custom DVDs with this drive as the sourse.
It never gets hot. In fact, it is quite cool. The power plug in the back is snug and secure.
I like the simplicity and that it does not have back up features.
To date it has performed flawlessly. It does not matter if I turn it off before shut down or after, nor if I turn it on before or after start up. (My mother board is an Asus P4P800 SE)

Cons: It comes formatted in FAT32. With my video file ranging from 10 to 14 GBs, the 4GB limitation of FAT32 is unacceptable, however, reformating is simple and it reformated without issue.

Other Thoughts: Western Digital, keep making them bigger.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Storage

Pros: 320 GB of sweet storage space... ok so its really a little less than that from the factory, but all hard drives have less usable. Very quite, quick and runs cool. Easy on/off button. Awesome deal.

Cons: No dual option backup, but who needs it? It's almost just as easy to drag and drop files over to external.

Other Thoughts: This is just what you need for a huge amount of storage at low cost. Great product. Love newegg, as always.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive!

Pros: Very good speeds for USB 2.0. Simple install, plug and play. Great size at a very good price. This thing stays amazingly cool and is nice and quiet. WD drives have always served me well. Was a great Xmas present from my parents.

Cons: Comes formatted fat32, but that is an easy fix.
