BEWARE OF CUTENESS!
- Pros: My home life is happier.
- Cons: I have yet to see this product out of the wrapping.
- Other Thoughts: As a Shell Shocker, this was a deal I couldn't pass up.
Regardless of a finish that would suck the fingerprints out of the air, this would be perfect for backing up my vital files. I say "would" because the only time I saw the tiny box was on the coffee table, the morning after it was speedily delivered.
My wife marveled at how small and cute the WD My Passport Essential was, and begged to back up some work files at her office. I never saw it again.
When will WD come out with an external hard drive that will make women run for fear of their estrogen so WE can actually use it?

- Other Thoughts: I got this from the shell shocker deal they ran. Even though its only 160 gigs, I wanted something that was small and didn't need external power, so this fit the bill. The only big con is that this thing *vibrates*, which can be bad for the hard drive inside. The stoppers at the bottom only make it worst (poor engineering). My suggestion would be to remove them, and use some type of shielding (i'm going ot use invisible shield after i buff out the scratches) so that you can lay it perfectly flat on a table/desk. This drastically reduces the vibrations and should increase disk life.
Aside from the vibration issue, this thing rocks!
Awesome
- Pros: Plugged it in and it booted right up. Nice sleek little external I can easily bring to school and work. Black finish is really nice, and the white led looks cool.
- Cons: Cable that came with it is a bit short.
