Pros: i bought and received two of these super drives around two weeks ago-i just put them in and got them up and running today-i tried booting them up with new windows upgrade cd-got to format part and setup said windows could not format because of either damaged drive or invalid o/s cd-i was bent out of shape-than i thought of little trick-used o/s from my first computer (which i upgraded everything except mother board for obvious reason of not wanting to shell out a 100.00 for new o/s cd)i have done this before and get the 30 days till activation reminder quite often-(not on line yet)will be tomorrow after i install upgrade o/s cd-i tested both drives for read,write only-i dont care about bad sectors,etc. as long as it works-i used 2.5 external drive-copied 5gb of photos and copied them to 400gb-than copied to d drive-both drives work great,as there supposed to.again i made a good buy from newegg!(i do not leave my computers run 24/7)they run when i use them-i have broadband internet.

Other Thoughts: i have never gotten a product i coul not use from newegg in the year and a half ive been dealing with them-ive bought around 2 grand worth of stuff from newegg and never had to return any thing-newegg has the greatest prices i have ever seen-hands down!and i am a comparison shopper-shipping is unreal-a few dollares for three day shipping-sometimes free shipping-newegg is,and has been number one since i was lucky enough to find them surfing the web a year and a half ago!thanx newegg,for everything!

Pros: I wouldn't know - mine came in DOA

Cons: Came in DOA. Might be just a fluke, but I certainly won't be returning it for replacement. I got a different, slightly higher priced Sxxxate 400GB drive. It makes me very nervous when a drive comes in dead.

Pros: Great Warranty.

Cons: You'll need that warranty. Drives keep dying. I am on my 5th. Can't be the best that Seagate can do.
