Good Portable Drive - Great For Road Warriors

Pros: No external power supply required, small size - great for travel. Quiet - can't even hear it most of the time. Note that there is provision for an external power supply (not provided with drive). Some older systems (esp laptops) may not have adequate power to run through USB only. This wasn't a problem, just FYI if you have an older system. Most laptops should run just fine - have used with an older thinkpad (2-3 yrs old) and newer HP and no problems.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Consider a protective case if you travel. Open vents on side of drive may allow dust, etc. to enter drive housing if unprotected.

Pros: Very quiet (I can't even hear the spindle motor, and the stepper is barley audible). Surprisingly fast I/O for a USB device. No separate power supply needed... in most cases.

Cons: The only cable I can get to work with the device is the one that was included. The drive uses a "mini-b" USB connector, but no other "mini-b" cable I've tried seems to supply enough power. I'd like a second cable; one to keep attached to my desktop machine and another for my laptop case. However, Seagate does not provide any obvious means of acquiring a second cable compatible guaranteed to be compatible with the drive.

Great Drive

Pros: 120GB is alot of harddrive. My old PC only had 80GB and I never filled that up. Amazingly fast for USB and super quite. Looks very nice sitting on top of any PC. Plug and play was super easy and fast.

Cons: People say its too big but really it isn't. You can't carry it around in your pocket if that is what they mean. But purse and laptop bags should have plenty of room.

Other Thoughts: People like to complain about tech products but I really have no complaints on this thing. Seagate puts out the best quality and spends the most out of any disk manufacturer on R&D so they are well ahead and deserve to be. I haven't tried this on any other items besides my PC. I will try to write a later review if I test it on my PS3 and 360 Elite.

A Very Well Built Product From Seagate

Pros: Feels VERY durable and well built. Looks as if it was built to withstand an accident. Faster than other External Enclosure Hard Drives I've seen. Works fine off of one USB port for power and data and includes a 2nd for extra power. Built for maximum ventilation. Giant LED to show you Hard Drive Activity. GREAT price.

Cons: HUGE! Compared to some other external enclosure that you can buy this enclosure is BIG. Only 1 year warranty offered from Seagate.

Other Thoughts: I can't complain much about this hard drive. Yes it's very big but I'm pretty sure it was made that big to be durable and to give maximum ventilation. So far the case has not heated up at all in the least and has been dropped once from 3-4 feet and works great. Tested with HDTune 2.53 and got an average of 25-26 MB/s depending on the computer. The warranty is a disappoint considering that anyone can buy a fairly cheap case and an internal hard drive and still have a 5 year warranty from Seagate. Although I doubt they'll be as well built as this thing is.

Other Thoughts: I use it for recording podcasts with my laptop, and holding all my mp3s.
