1 out of 5 eggs9 months, now dead

Pros: Worked well while it was working. Slim form factor

Cons: My only real criticism is that it is dead, less than a year after purchase, and I wasn't using it 100% of the time, since I swap out boot drives for different OS installs. Disappointing. I will report back with warranty support info.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Prior to problem, had no complaints. Did what i asked of it, and did it fast.

Cons: Windows alerted me that the drive was saying imminent failure was possible. I have had no complaints from the drive prior to this, however, it was not heavily used. SMART indicated Reallocation Sector Count of 02, raw value FC3 and SeaTools didnt disagree, failing every test i put it through, even after upgrading firmware. Other Barracuda drive passed every test and is the one primarily used in the comp.

Other Thoughts: These things do happen. It is a mechanical component after all.

4 out of 5 eggsGood price, good hard drive

Pros: It worked! I installed it in an old HP desktop which used to have a Western Digital drive that went bad. Full format was pretty quick and the OS (Windows XP SP3) loaded just fine. Can't really ask for much more.

Cons: None so far. I've had it for a couple of weeks now, hope it lasts for several years.

Pros: Wasn't DOA works fine will have to wait to see if it lasts longer then others have posted. It's a secondary drive not in a RAID setup just singles have it setup as a media drive.

Cons: Wasn't free.....what can I say it works fine for now only time will tell.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: Quiet, reliable, good price

Cons: not free

Other Thoughts: I have put this as the boot drive in a machine I upgraded from XP to Win7. Also have installed 2-1TB 'cudas mirrored as my primary data drive for photo and image editing and storage. Have had no problems. Have bought 6 other 'cudas since.
