Seagate Expansion 2TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive

Pros: Great storage size at the time

Cons: Broke down after 2.5 years (almost) of normal use... this is ridiculous. required an additional power cord - minor inconvenience

Pros: I would say this was one of the easiest expansion that I have done and just a plug play. You just read and click love that. I have this running the movies, (net work), for the whole house; and @ times there are four movies being watched at one time and it does this with ease.

Cons: so far I do not have any

Other Thoughts: Have owned since 2011, haven't had any problems as of yet.

Pros: Lots of storage space,quiet and its fast.

Cons: Only problem i had was losing the power cord. Do any of you know what type of power cord to use for it? I've goon though around 11 different adapters and couldn't find any that wanted to work with it. I also had trouble find the right power supply amount (volts, amps). Any one know of any info that might help me out?

Pros: Lots of storage space

Cons: This drive has crashed on me twice. I bought one last January and it crashed within a year. Then through a lot of hassle, I got a "new" drive sent to me and it crashed too. I do not take it anywhere, It sits in one location.

Bought at Target Locally for $69.00

What I found inside was a Seagate SATA 6.0 7200 RPM 64MB Cache Hard disk model st2000dm001

I nice Fast Hard Disk.. Tossed the case and cables in the trash :P

Cons: ALL the reviews I read led me to believe the power and USB cable were the bulk of the issues

Other Thoughts: Salvage your drives and toss the shell ;)

Pros: none

Cons: Worked when first plugged in and was able to move my media collection over. Was never able to get the drive to work again. Once booted up the dive will be listed as connected in device manager; however, not shown in drive management, prevents drive management from running, can not be seen by SeaTools diagnostic - hangs diagnostic when connected, and can not boot up any machine with drive connected.

Pros: Really fast, actually moved my steam games onto this drive and it cut down on loading times.

Cons: drive failed for no reason 4 weeks after taking it out of the box. I never touched it after plugging it into my computer, and this morning it simply decided to die on me. What use is a backup drive if it can't even last a month without dying? Seagate is not worth the risk - make sure you get a decent warranty if you're buying this.

Other Thoughts: These drives have been a major problem for lots of people. If you're still thinking of buying on after reading the reviews, don't. It's not worth the risk. I thought I would get lucky if I just handled it carefully and didn't put anything important on there. There's a problem when your backup drive is less reliable than your internal.

- fails VERY often
- clicking noise

- did i mention unreliable?

Other Thoughts: its kinda like toilet paper, but in harddrive

Pros: None

Cons: Totally dead. No power light, nothing. I have tried it on several computers. I have a 1 TB that works great. This one is garbage. Live and learn.

Other Thoughts: No more Seagate for me.
