Works Great
- Pros: Work Great with my HP Omnibook 4150. Inproved preformance even with 300 Mhz CPU
- Cons: None
- Pros: works mint in my old dell CPx, faster boot time with 16MB cache 5400 rpm.
- Cons: I miss the FedEx deliverys
Excellent Quiet Fast Drive!!!
- Pros: This drive arrived in anti-static packaging and massive amounts of bubble wrap. Windows immediately recognized the drive and I installed 2000 Professional with no problems. This drive is extremely quiet, but better yet, it runs noticeabley cooler which is a welcome bonus as the hard drive in my Compaq Presario laptop is situated below my left wrist. Highly recommended!

- Other Thoughts: I would like to add some info that I was not aware of prior to searching for a replacement drive. My Compaq Presario laptop originally came with a 30gig, 4200rpm drive with a 2mb buffer. I knew a 5,400rpm drive would be faster, but what I didn't know was that the buffer was a big factor in performace. Despite a small jump in drive speed (from 4,200 to 5,400 rpm) I notice a HUGE improvement in performance. I attribute this to the difference between a 2mb and 16mb buffer. I would highly recommend sacrificing some drive space for a higher mb buffer if price is as much an issue for you as it was for me. I'd much rather have a 40gig 16mb buffer drive that's this fast for the same price as a 60gig 2 or 8mb buffer drive that's slower. Just my .02! :)
