Pros: Decently Fast Drive for the Money

Other Thoughts: I built a simple system containing one of these on 5/17/05. By March of 2006 the system began to have sporadic issues accessing data. I ran all the standard diagnostics. Windows checks showed file errors, but no bad sectors on disk (which was odd). I did a simple 0-based wipe on the drive (with non-fatal errors indicating issues with the disk). Then ran segate drive utilities to do a full test on the drive showing dozens of errors on the disk. Before this drive, I had an unwritten rule of not purchasing Samsung drives due to reliability issues in the past. The purchase of this one was definately a mistake.

NOTE:
I have the SATA version of this drive Model #HD160JJ with Rom Revison WU100-31.

quick, quiet, and reasonably priced!

Pros: This drive has been excellent in the five months that I've owned it! It's quiet, (thanks to fluid-bearing technology), quick, and reliable.

Cons: None so far--

Other Thoughts: Seagate drives would be similar to this, but perhaps more reliable as they are warrenteed to five years.
