if it works,but wont be used as boot,ill put it in raid3? with a 80gb.

Pros: If a Drive Corrupts and Ruins data in less than a year there are no pros!

Cons: This drive lasts just long enough for you to have to go directly to Samsung for RMA. Needless to say they are difficult to deal with.

Other Thoughts: STICK WITH WESTERN DIGITAL OR MAXTOR!!!!! IF YOU BUY THIS DRIVE BACK UP YOUR SYSTEM ON A WEEKLY BASIS!!!!!!!!!

Other Thoughts: I've been using Samsung Drives exclusively in all my replacements and builds for the last 3 years, first one EVER for DOA. I'm not going to dock them too much for that. if the next one's DOA I'll start to wonder though.

Pros: worked great for a while, new egg rocks!!!

Cons: works 1/2 the time I need to send mine back, It wont boot my O/S sometimes, or will quit working, and the SATA cable has been loose since I got it

Bought this drive to match my existing drive in a Dell Dimension 5150--with the intention of doing what the prior reviewer preceding mine did. My Bios has the option to turn on Raid 1, but when switching to the config step after control I command and configuring for Raid 1, I get a warning screen that data will be lost. Dell's tech support is of little or no help, when warranty is up, so I'm afraid to enter the (Yes) command, and see whether the existing disk mirrors to the new disk, or whether I'll wind up with two clean hard drives, and no op. system, and no data?? This new disk is like my older one, (virtually silent, reliable,), installation requires Sata, or Sata II cable, and Sata power cable from power supply, or adapter for two Molex(4-pins To Sata) dongle>. Mounting screws (if needed) were included!! Installation and formatting in XP Pro took 15 Mins. Great product at excellent price--G

Other Thoughts: For an all around general usage drive, this one seems to be as good as anything else!! Unless you need Mega storage space, would be hard to beat price, or quality in my limited-expertise opinion!!

Pros: Big drive @ a low price what more could you want? well.. see below!

Cons: Well maybe knowing that a standard 4 Pin Molex plug wont fit and the drive of course docent come with a SATA power cable! Make sure you have a SATA ready PSU, SATA cable ready or get ready to have a big fat paper weight until you can find a way to power the beast!

Pros: It's made by Samsung.

Cons: I installed Windows XP on it 3 times and I cannot escape the Blue Screen during startup. Researching the Stop Codes revealed a possible unmountable or faulty hard drive. Using a different hard drive allowed me to install XP and run it with no problems.

Other Thoughts: Samsung makes excellent products but I'm not motivated to buy their hard drives anymore. Wxxxern Dxxxtal has never failed me.

Pros: One of the cheaper SATA hard drives out there, and great workmanship!

Other Thoughts: Vista would not install to this hard drive, perhaps a bad cluster. Installing it to another hard drive and using this Samsung for data seeks to work fine, however.

Pros: Worked fine for about 4 1/2 to 5 months.

Cons: In the 6th month it has lots of slow down booting up and drawing off from windows. Now it pauses for about 4-5 seconds and lets out a loud click about once every 20 minutes. Purchased on 9/5/06.
