Pros: Quiet, fast (true USB-2 with throughput up to over 400M bits/s.

Cons: The Quick Start Guide could use a lot of improvement

Other Thoughts: I have owned it for only a few days but I thought I should write this review that may help others. The power LED has an unconventional behavior – it does not light after the power adapter is plugged in. I have three other external hard drives which all have the power light on after the adapter is plugged in. I tried another adapter and HD behaved the same and I almost decided to return it as DOA. Fortunately I plugged in the USB cable as the last resort and the power LED lit and everything started working.
The size of the drive is shown to be 1.36 TB in Windows and this is due to the notorious discrepancy between HD manufacturers and MS. For HD manufacturers, 1TB literally means 1 trillion (1,000,000,000, 000) bytes while 1TB in windows means 1024^4 = 1.1E12 bytes and this is why Windows shows 1.5/1.1 = 1.36 TB.

Pros: None

Cons: DOA.

Other Thoughts: Great customer service by Newegg for a refund.

Pros: Runs cool. Portable

Cons: 1.3TB harddisk, almost loosing 200GB.

Pros: 1.5 TB for a 100 bucks is a good deal. I'm using it for file back up. I had to reformat for a MAC but no biggy. No fan but it seems to run cool. Case is very handy and much stronger than home made cases. Has a power indicator on the back panel. I trust Iomega from using their back up drives for years. Will buy another.
