Not a good product
- Pros: Cheap DVR. Records and replays fine.
- Cons: A couple of problems:
1) Every time I turn on, for about half a minute it displays flickering/rolling vendor logo even when I have setup to output NTSC. Not catastrophic but annoying.
2) Remote control works only if you are within 5 ft (not a batteries problem). Contacted the vendor they say that the remote range is only 7 ft. Even if it is 7 ft, you need to walk close enough to make it work. I have other A/V equipment in my living room, all remote controls work reliably from 12-15 ft but this one is almost impossible to use.
3) Menus are not very intuitive, specially when you want to switch from playback recordings to TV/Cable input. My Mom can never operate it.
4) While it can mount your network share but won't share its own. It would be far more convenient if I could mount its drive on my desktop and do all the file manipulation from my PC rather than struggling with tiny keyboard of the remote control (which does not work well either, as explained above).
Great Media Center
- Pros: This media center offers everything I need in a media center at a great price. You don't have to hunt down a compatible usb wireless adaptor; it comes with one (as well as 500gig HD, HDMI, A/V, and Component cables). Hi-def streaming through this adaptor is flawless so far. Picks up any shared network location for file browsing. In my case it found my laptop (WinXP) and Desktop (Ubuntu 64bit 9.04).

My cirago sits in between my sat reciever and my tv.
A/V from sat to cirago and HDMI from cirago to tv.
My media to play is stored on my desktop computer (ubuntu 9.04 64bit).
The cirago menu allows me to easily switch between watching tv from sat to watching movies (music and photos as well) that are on my desktop computer using the wireless adapter.
While watching sat tv I can pause, rewind, fastforward, play, record, etc...
Have not had this unit very long, but would already highly highly recommend it to anyone looking for a media center that can find and connect to media in multiple ways.
