A good supplement
- Pros: -It's a nice thing to have for a dedicated media center PC, one that has been built into your home theater system
-Built in mouse -Uses existing IR reciever
- Cons: -Not the most comfortable keyboard
-Since it is IR, it has the same limitations as a remote control -Almost as pricey as a RF keyboard
- Other Thoughts: Keep in mind that because of the OEM nature of media center, this is intended to be a supplement to a store-bought machine, one that shipped with an IR reciever and media center remote. It doesn't include an IR reciever of it's own, so don't buy it if you don't have the remote control.
Still not right.
- Pros: Looks nice.
- Cons: I thought the finger pointer tool might pan out but it turns out it's not a great mouse replacement.
When is some lucky company going to realize that the a laptop style keyboard with a trackpad is the way to go for wireless keyboarding? Heck it would even have the wrist support as there would be wrist spots to the side of the trackpad just like on a laptop. Something that is sorely missing from every single wireless lapboard on the market. If you know of one, please tell me. I need it!
- Other Thoughts: Don't waste your cash here. It didn't hit the mark.

uuuggggg
- Pros: easy access to media center functions
- Cons: mouse pointer, keys, pretty much the whole keyboard
- Other Thoughts: Ive owned 2 of theese, bought the second one thinking i got a bad one the first time and couldnt return it...nope got the same thing, the mouse pointer is ssoooo frustrating that mine is in a million pieces in the trash. You get going and it stops halfway to where you were going, junk junk junk will some company please make a touchpad version ,that would be great and thank you.until then Im going to try some others here as the long wire I have going now is pretty lame..thanks microsoft .
Nice KB but mouse pointer is nearly useless
- Pros: Nice wireless KB - works right away with the existing MS infrared remote controller for Media Center.
Light enough and good quality of keyboard (buttons). Lays nicely on your lap and a few extra buttons make it easier to use.
- Cons: The mouse pointing stick is unacceptably bad. You have to press (push down) it to use and even then the movement is uncontrollably fast or slow. I use point stick on laptops for 10 years by now and this one is absolutely nothing even near to laptop ones.
The KB has a "lock" switch that kinda shuts it off. The switch is located under the KB on the side closer to you and is not easy to determine its position. It would be much better if the switch is located on the side that is facing the monitor (right under your fingers) and have either a LED or clear mechanical indication of its position. The KB also promises to be able to shut your TV on/off. No matter what I tried, it could not handle my rather standard Sony TV.
- Other Thoughts: I use the KB very rarely as most of my interactions with my Media Center PC are done using an IR remote, so I am OK with it. I would throw it away if I were to use it on a daily basis.
- Pros: Works with Vista media center! I had 4 remotes and now I have 1. A big one.
- Cons: That little mouse thing takes some getting used to...I avoid it whenever possible.
- Other Thoughts: I purchased the Hauppauge wintv pvr 500mce that included the remote. Everything was so easy to set up together.
