2 out of 5 eggsNice KB but mouse pointer is nearly useless

Pros: Nice wireless KB - works right away with the existing MS infrared remote controller for Media Center.
Light enough and good quality of keyboard (buttons).
Lays nicely on your lap and a few extra buttons make it easier to use.

Cons: The mouse pointing stick is unacceptably bad. You have to press (push down) it to use and even then the movement is uncontrollably fast or slow. I use point stick on laptops for 10 years by now and this one is absolutely nothing even near to laptop ones.
The KB has a "lock" switch that kinda shuts it off. The switch is located under the KB on the side closer to you and is not easy to determine its position. It would be much better if the switch is located on the side that is facing the monitor (right under your fingers) and have either a LED or clear mechanical indication of its position.
The KB also promises to be able to shut your TV on/off. No matter what I tried, it could not handle my rather standard Sony TV.

Other Thoughts: I use the KB very rarely as most of my interactions with my Media Center PC are done using an IR remote, so I am OK with it. I would throw it away if I were to use it on a daily basis.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works with Vista media center! I had 4 remotes and now I have 1. A big one.

Cons: That little mouse thing takes some getting used to...I avoid it whenever possible.

Other Thoughts: I purchased the Hauppauge wintv pvr 500mce that included the remote. Everything was so easy to set up together.

5 out of 5 eggsI really like it

Pros: All keyboard functions from the couch with convenient media center buttons. It's sturdy, looks sleek and feels solid. Works with Media Center remote control receiver. No drivers needed.

Media Center buttons light up when pressed (not regular keys) but even better this function can be disabled to save battery life.

Cons: No Infrared receiver. Mouse pointer hard to use. Types like a laptop keyboard so it feels a little odd, not 'normal' feel like a standard keyboard.

Other Thoughts: The mouse pointer is not intuitive but with patience and finesse you can learn to use it.

5 out of 5 eggsLove IT!

Pros: well built. Great design. I just pluged this thing in and it worked right away. If you intend on building a media center, you need this product. device responds great!!

Cons: mouse pointer control has a learning curve....could uae a few extra programable buttons.

Other Thoughts: other reviews stated that there was a delay when tying...wrong. im using it now from my kitchen table, about 30 feet away and not even pointing it at the IR reciever on top of my TV. works with vista.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat MCE keyboard

Pros: Great addition for a MCE based HTPC. fairly decent setup, feels nice and sturdy, yet very light. spill proof (rum and coke proof for sure). range of the keyboard is great (20+ feet for sure, couldn't get further away to test longer range)

Cons: small quibbles

Backlight doesn't light up the keyboard, just the Remote functions.

the nub mouse takes some practice to make it do what you want it to do.

Other Thoughts: it's an add on for the MCE remote package, so could be a nasty surprise for someone that doesn't read the packaging and thinks a IR receiver is included.

I picked it up at half price, not sure I'd pay full price, but I really found it opened up a lot more functionality in my HTPC. instead of just TV/movies/music, now we can quickly look up stuff on IMDB when we get in an argument about who was in what movie

2 out of 5 eggsBart

Pros: nice keybord, feels good, solid finish.

Cons: Where is the IR RECIEVER ????
I didn't do my homework i guess : when opening the box i was looking for the IR reciever but their is NONE !
You CAN NOT BUY TH EIR RECIEVER SEPERATE ! haha that's like buying a pair of shoes and you only get 1.
You have to buy the Microsoft remote + IR Reciever and trash the remote if you want to use this keybord !?

Returning today.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great wireless keyboard, many preprogramed keys, Also easy to program additional functionality such as the television functionalition

Cons: You do need to have an unobstructed line of site between the keyboard and the ir emitter. The Start button only works if you are using Windows Meida Center, and the mouse is very jerky, takes time getting used to.

Other Thoughts: Great design, very slick and user frindly, A touchpad verus's the pointer maybe a better fit for mouse functionality.

4 out of 5 eggsNice unit

Pros: Everything in one place. I like the tray design. It fits well in between my hands.

Cons: Pointer took some getting used to. It seemed impossible at first but then I realized it works much better when I use my thumb and not an index finger. It feels more natural that way to me.

Other Thoughts: I'm buying one for each of the other two HTPCs I'm building as well.
