5 out of 5 eggsGreat daily driver

Pros: Good color reproduction and crisp fonts.

Cons: it can't read my mind

Other Thoughts: This monitor has been used daily since December 2007 but slowly died this past September 2013. After replacing the two 820 uF and the 330 uF capacitors on the PS PCB it's up and running again. Maybe I'll get a few more years out of this work horse.

5 out of 5 eggsamazing monitor

Pros: had this monitor for about 8 years now and had ZERO problems since..well until now. guess the people that had to change capacitors just had bad luck. has amazing color, 22 inches is a comfortable size if you don't have a big desk. never had any problem with it, except i didn't know it could tilt for the longest time. don't know why i never bothered to check if it could.

Cons: none at all.

Other Thoughts: been 8 years and i think now the capacitors or dieing off, not really sure if that is the case. suddenly the monitor wouldn't turn on when i activate computer from sleep and makes a buzzing noise whenever i start it up. just going to buy a new monitor. can't wait to see how much better monitors have become in the last 8 years!

5 out of 5 eggsGot Them For Free

Pros: Good Quality, Big Screen, and Fast Response Time

Cons: After a period of use, A) They will start flickering B) Have Power Issues

This can be fixed easily by replacing the bad capacitors.

Other Thoughts: I currently have 2 of these monitors. Surprisingly, 2 of my dad's friends had these monitors and they said it was dieing and having problems. I just told my dad to take it home and I would try to find the problem. Soon enough, I read online that these monitors have Bad Capacitors and needed to be replaced, I did so and it worked like a charm! No issues were ever encountered again! I'm guessing these are quite popular so ask around if someone you know have it, they probably have a problem with it. Just buy capacitors and get the old ones replaced!

4 out of 5 eggsGood Monitors while they last

Pros: Good picture no ghosting * for years. Nice design ( it cale with more than most monitors did ( see cons regarding Samsung below though )

Cons: Had a scratch on the screen right out of the box. Box was not damages or even touched and original packing, well packed, looks like factory mess up. Customer Service said send everything in that was with the package and they'd take care of it. (THEY SURE DID...Big mistake, they returned the monitor without repair and kept my power cords and DVI cable) Well that ended my Samsung monitor buying forever. But I did manage to be able to buff it out of the screen to hardly noticable except from two angles.

Other Thoughts: 3 years into the warranty and weeks after it ended the monitor whent out. I thought "Okay why not.. it's not working any way" I opened up the monitor to see what the damage was and found the 5 main capacitors on the inverter board witherblown or buldging. For a litte over $5 and a little solder time I have replaced them with 10 year Japanese solid caps... I doubt the the rest of the monitor will last that long but it is alive and well to this day. Easy test and repair for the electonic minded.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh Quality

Pros: 2 ms
22' good size
Swivel and Tilt

Got this monitor in 2007 for 200 Dollars on sale. I am still using it today as it is working fine and saves me money on purchasing a new monitor. I am using it with a new budget gaming PC i recently built. I really only play Old games on it mostly however I have played SWOTOR on it and do plan to use it as well with Counter Strike Global Offensive. Regular DVDs look terrible on this monitor though I am unsure if it is my DVD drive or windows media to blame.

Cons: after so many years of course the resolution is out of date and does not compare to the new higher resolutions offered on every new monitor.

Other Thoughts: If you need a monitor obtain this from someone you know or cheap used somewhere its worth it, even today this is a great monitor and Im sure the new samsungs are even better.

5 out of 5 eggsFree

Pros: Free HD monitor. It has a good stand also tilts too.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I got this monitor from a guy at work for free because it was not powering on. Low and behold it had a capacitor problem just as the review mentions below this one. So I ordered some caps from a certain website (nickname given to rodent eating cats sometimes) for five dollars and some shipping fees, problem solved.

4 out of 5 eggsReally Good.

Pros: Still alive after 3 years of continuous use and only ran into one problem.

Cons: As mentioned above, I ran into 1 problem when using this monitor. Samsung is known for using cheap capacitors that die right around the time that your warranty expires. It's pretty underhanded considering a good quality capacitor will only set you back 50 cents. Luckily, it's pretty simple to desolder and apply the new capacitor your self.

4 out of 5 eggs3 seconds away from trash can

Pros: Very nice contratst ratio. Picture is clear and vivid

Cons: The capacitors on all Samsung products are bad and have to be replaced. The warranty normally lasts about 1 year.

Other Thoughts: I got this monitor from someone that said that it wouldn't come on. I didn't really look at it for like 12 months but thought that it could be saved before I threw it out. As for many of the Samsung products there is about an 18 month life on the capacitors that are on the power supply. I found a kit online for about 15 bucks and was able to solder the new capacitors in and I am writing to you on a beautiful screen.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: - quick response
- great for twitch gaming (FPS, MMO)

Cons: - the "white" is a little "dirty", not as clean and bright as other monitors - Depends on whether or not you consider that an issue because it is easier on the eyes due to the size of the screen.

Other Thoughts: I have used this monitor for 3+ years now and I still love it. I actually am writing this response because I want to buy another one for multi monitor support. I have used this for World of Warcraft and many FPS games. Pretty much, if you graphic card(s) can handle it, this monitor won't be an issue from my experience. Ive been using GeForce GTX260's x2 SLI config and played most of my games on the highest graphic settings so take that into account if you are looking at more powerful cards that have been released in the last 2 years.

I no longer game and use my computer and multi screen support for investment platform software and insurance quoting dashboards which is also passes quite handily.
