Awesome! Totally awesome!
- Pros: Incredibly fast response time, *bright* (almost too bright in standard "Entertain" mode), 1000:1 contrast ratio, flexible orientation, lightweight. Colors are vivid, almost to the point of distraction. Built-in USB 2.0 hub.
- Cons: Um, can't think of any. Well it requires 100W versus its predecessor's 90W, but still...
- Other Thoughts: 1920x1200 is the max for an LCD monitor without going Dual DVI-D and workstation-class video cards. I lusted after the monitor this model replaces (the 243T) and it's generations better, and $100 less! (The 244T has twice the contrast ratio and is 67% brighter.) Doesn't get much better than that. At this price, I'm seriously contemplating getting a second 244T for a dual-desktop system. Gaming purists might still look down their nose at its 6ms pixel response time (and I'd guess that Samsung might be fudging the specs a bit,) but it's perfectly acceptable by my standards. Finally, an LCD monitor worty of replacing my old 2-ton, double-wide Sony CRT behemoth!
Excellent Monitor
- Pros: I replaced my Dell 2405FPW. There is such a big difference in color between the two. The 244t has much more accurate color for editing od photos. Both have been calibrated by Spyder Calibration. There was a small amount of ghosting with CS:S on the gaming side. Color and response time with Company of Heroes was excellent. I love both monitors but Samsung (in this camparison) wins hands down. I don't know how it would fare against the newer Dell 2407FPW. It doesnt matter to me cause this monitor is so good.
- Cons: Used with XFX 7800 gtx and latest realease of Nvidia drivers. Nvidia's control panel had conflicts with Samsung's Magicolor Software(MT 4.0) and/or Magic Rotation. I wasnt going to use this software anyhow but I did want to laod it and test it. Big mistake. Had to uninstall software due to conflicts with Nvidia Control Panel. Ended up reinstalling video drivers.
- Other Thoughts: Thanks Newegg. Superfast shipping. Leave the Samsung Software in the box.

- Pros: This monitor doe's the job for gamers.No lag,no ghosting.Fast refresh rate.Beautiful picture.Photos and games look great.
- Cons: Could be a little easier on the pocket
- Other Thoughts: I do not know why people blame some equipment for bad performance due to the lack of the perfomance that feeds into it.If you have a high end machine this monitor will produce.Bigger monitors are video card hungry.It's alot more pixels to fill and refresh.I have a Evga 680i motherboard,2x-8800gtx ultra video cards sli,4 gig of corsair dominator ram and e6850 cpu overclocked to 3.6,this monitor rocks with this setup.
It's great!
- Pros: Well, it's really big, bright, and beautiful. I can't notice any dead pixels.
I have played some movies on this monitor and they look great. Even Half-Life 2 looks great.
- Cons: I'm not sure if this is the monitor or my video card, but HL2 is a bit laggy and has some sheering and tearing. I'm thinking because my video card (radeon 9800 pro) probably has a hard time with the 1920x1200 resolution.
- Other Thoughts: I'd like for the USB ports to not be on the side, but since I don't use them, I guess it's not a big deal.
great monitor
- Pros: Have had this for roughly 4 months, I use it mostly for gaming (all genres) and a little for movies. Can't beat the specs, can't beat the price, can't beat the performance... SAMSUNG really made a fan out of me with this one. Refresh rate is great for FPS, gives good peripheral vision.
- Cons: Wish I'd bought their 30'' (maybe that's next ^^)
- Other Thoughts: You'll feel like a fighter pilot the first time you get in game with this thing on - no joke.
