BenQ proves that a great projector doesn't need to cost more than the laptop that drives it. The MP622c has a bright 2200 lumen image with a 2000:1 contrast ratio for stunning image quality. Pros: Good features for the price. Bright enough for a BIG screen... we project ours at about 140" diagonal. Good colors, good picture. Easy to navigate menus. The factory setup looked fantastic.
Cons: Contrast on a flat white wall was decent, but not great. It has to be VERY dark in your room for a good cinema experience. It worked better once we painted the wall light grey. I'd bet it would be quite nice on a grey screen.
Other Thoughts: I would not buy this projector for home theater use again. I would spend more on a cinema-specific projector with better contrast, and get a screen. That being said, I feel it was a good value and a great first time projector. I'm not sorry I bought it, and I'm sure we'll be happy with it for a few years. I plan on using this to play a few PC video games too. MechWarrior 4 on a 11.5 FOOT screen is pretty incredible.
This projector has a longer bulb life than almost any other unit I could find. 4000 hours on economy mode, which really is quite bright. You won't need full brightness unless you have a fairly bright room.
