Unbeatable for the Price
- Pros: 42" display, Wide support of resolution settings (1080P/I, 720p, 480P/I). This TV is Thin (about 3") and easily wall mounted. The media box is a pro and a con but nothing is perfect, it has a lot of inputs and keeps them away from the TV, but like many other people have mentioned it does overheat if not properly venelated. Other Pros, the bright backlight and color accuracy (for the money it excellent)are unsurpassed. It has outputs for to other speakers as well as a passive Subwoofer output, and a second video output... if you want to plug it into another TV. The installation was very easy, It has na Attractive styling and high gloss finish. Also the PIP options on it are really... The only option it's missing is DVI&VGA at the same time. This TV is well worth the price. I would and have recommended Sceptre to other people since I got my TV.
- Cons: Some of the input/outputs aren't verywell placed on the media box (i.e. PC speaker/headphone output, DVI/VGA they get in the way of the 3 plugs that go to the Screen. The Media box does overheat if you don't keep it cool enough, I had it ontop of my Reciver for a while until one day I put my hand on it and realized how hot it was. The LED's are a little Too bright(a few pieces of scotch tape should diffuse it pretty well though [I wouldn't recommend glue]) On My set the Blue Sceptre logo and the LED on the right went so dim after about a month that you couldn't see them anymore and the media box was only showing the red LED, and yesterday 11/5 They cam back on... I really like this TV, but that made me wonder about it's overall workmanship because I've been extremely careful with it. When i was having this problem I looked in the manual (nothing) and I called Sceptre (4 or 5 times) and no one ever answered.
Finally, the VGA requires Color correction to make it suitable for viewing.
- Other Thoughts: I've played Many games from SNES emulated games to Quake 4, NFSU2, Evil Genius, XBOX... (the lis goes on) and I've watched hours and hours of movies and TV on it, as well as editing video on it, which is what i bought it for (as a preview Monitor for High Def rendering/widescreen) and so far I have been completely satisfied with what I have gotten from my Sceptre TV, I wasn't able to get my warranty card in within the alloted time because I was in Cali on a Fire, but I can only hope that Sceptre will still honor it if something ever does go wrong.
Also you have to keep the original packaging or it voids your warranty (that seems really stupid to me cause I don't have much room to put it in my small apartment. Right after I bought my TV thoug Newegg dropped the price $100 (I wish they refunded the difference to their customers when they drop the price on their stuff, still Newegg is by far the best online retailer outhere.
MEDIA BOX IS A MUST!!!
- Pros: Love it, picture for price is unbeatable
- Cons: no one has really made it just how necessary the media box is, its not an option, if you do not buy it you will not have any inputs, so id buy this while its still on special
- Other Thoughts: the need for the media box should be disclosed better

- Pros: PRICE!! Excellent Quality 1080 Monitor. decent TV/DTV Tuner.
Friends and Fam all drool when they see it in action. Crysis, Bioshock, COD4, WOW and other games apps are absolutely amazing at 1080, with bright vibrant color and text crisp as can be. I've no problems with paint on mine, maybe just got lucky on that.
Inregards to the mediabox, mine arrived with the 2dvi model, a big + there. The box itself is a nice touch, keeping my mess of wires all leading to one hidden place rather than twisted and clumped falling out the bottom of the screen in plain view.
- Cons: The software managing the tv/dtv tuner and lack of a optical audio out(one that wont void the warranty) are the only things keeping me from marking this 5 eggs.
*note the picture quality and sound are fantastic through the software used, it's merely the info-box and guide that look very cheap and there is a slight delay when changing stations. If you've a cable or satilite box there's no need even be using the built-in tuner, in that you'll never come across this.
- Other Thoughts: Even before I hooked it up, I had removed the bottom panel of speakers along with the power to the sceptre logo, honestly you're not buying this screen to be run with some cheesy built-in speakers =P. With both those removed it has a very sleak pro look, not to mention all the extra weight it drops.
Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a 1080 screen. Can't beat the price.
bargain LCD
- Pros: fantastic display quality for the price - The panel looks amazing connected to a nice video card. The media box is a unique way to handle connectivity and updates. It also keeps the panel very slim on the wall.
- Cons: The physical build quality is terrible. The cabinet is scratched and has small areas of poor finish. The paint on the stand is bubbled and textured in large areas. The media box is cheap looking - the metal cover doesn't line up at the front seams. The cable arrived with a bent pin on one connector and the shielding bent on another. The connectors are huge... if you plan to do in-wall cabling, make big holes!
- Other Thoughts: This is a great quality panel clothed in ugly finish. The picture is bright and beautiful at 1080p, but my friends make fun of the wide frame with big logos and poor paint job.
awesome
- Pros: picture is amazing... price. I personally find the external media box extremely handy. much easier than moving the the tv when you need to get to the inputs.
- Cons: paint job is a bit meh when you get inches away and are looking at it.
- Other Thoughts: I've watched 7 hours of tv on this now (in a row) and I find it amazing. it's as good (or better) than and lcd tv I've ever seen. would definitely buy again.
Also, the media box comes with two hdmi ports, not one. (at least mine did)
