4 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: I have had this Monitor for 5 years and 1 month. Never had a problem with it. Auto adjust works great.

Cons: Built in speakers are not very good. If they had been it would of gotten 5 eggs.

Other Thoughts: I know they don't sell this monitor anymore but i thought i would give it a review anyway. Just got my first dead pixel this month. I would buy it again in heartbeat.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong after 2 years

Pros: Great colour, no dead/stuck pixels. Didn't ever try the speakers, so I can't comment on that. I don't do gaming, but it's been great for casual web / word processing / spreadsheet type work.

Cons: Limited tilt adjustment, integrated monitor cable.

Other Thoughts: I've been reading the reviews by folks who've had failures after a year. Maybe mine was made better because it's a year older than theirs?

1 out of 5 eggsAttention: Do not buy this monitor

Pros: After one year I bought the monitor, the monitor can not display normally. The screen is masked by lines. When I bought the monitor, it is said that the warranty is three(3) years. But now Viewsoinc says that the warranty is only one year. In fact, on my user guide, the warranty is printed three years.
ViewSonic refuses to repair the monitor. And to make me angry, Viewsonic knows that this monitor definitely has problem after one year. So they changed the warranty policy.

My suggestion: Do not buy this monitor. You will be regret after one year. I never heard that monitor can only be used for one year.

Attention: Do not buy this monitor

Cons: Attention: Do not buy this monitor

Other Thoughts: Attention: Do not buy this monitor

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware!

Pros: cost, doesn't smell like cheese

Cons: poor value, short lifespan, lousy customer service

Other Thoughts: I was among the chorus singing the praises of this monitor until the weekend before Christmas when the monitor died. It started making a weird, warbling electronic hum as the computer started. The image would flicker and dim and finally just went black. I plugged it into another computer to make sure that it was truly the monitor and it was. I had owned the monitor for sixteen months. Nice monitor while it lasted, but when measuring cost versus useful lifetime - this monitor is a very poor value.

By the way, written inquiries to ViewSonic have gone ignored. Very dissatisfying experience, both in terms of product quality and customer service.

4 out of 5 eggsLights out

Pros: Excellent monitor, never had any problems with it outside of the odd blank pixel which would go back to normal if you flicked the spot lightly. However...

Cons: LCD's must have a half-life of a year and a half. Tonight it started flickering, onboard volume on it went wonky (it's not even attached to sound) and then pop ... lights out. Had it for a year and 5 months and we just had to order a new monitor. We owned a Viewsonic CRT prior to this and her monitor lasted alot longer than 1.5 years.

Pros: Pretty good monitor.

Cons: he speakers suck, but i didn't buy it for the speakers.

4 out of 5 eggsNo tilt

Pros: Nice monitor

Cons: Monitor feels like it is tilted slightly downwards so you need a little stand for it.

1 out of 5 eggsDied after just over 1 year

Pros: awesome picture auto adusted, worked well on my older compter system, ( square screen no wierd resolutions needed)

Cons: This Item should last a few years at least. It now turn on for a second then off. Called Viewsonic, told me I was out of luck pal. Worst money I ever laid out for a computer product,

Other Thoughts: This is not a "real" Viewsonic product. It just has there name on it. Buy a Hanns G or Chimeina. Big bang for your buck
Do not pay for a brand name no-name.

3 out of 5 eggsWatch out for the backlight

Pros: nice screen, good color

Cons: After 55 weeks, the backlight started to get noisy and then went dead, and that 1 year warranty had expired just 3 weeks earler! Sad, that. This is the last Viewsonic LCD I'll ever get, at least with less than a 3 year warranty!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: Great basic monitor to fit just about any need.

Cons: Could be better for 3D games. Lacks DVI. Speakers are not good at all.

Other Thoughts: Had this monitor for over a year now and the price seems to be the same. Optiquest is the basic modle for VS monitors and get what you pay for. If you don't top of the line monitor this is a great buy.
