3 out of 5 eggsViewsonic quality going down

Pros: I didnt get this at Newegg but have purchased many things from them and nothing to say but the best about the service.

Cons: I got one of these to replace an older Viewsonic Pro aperture grill that got fuzzy. This one is just as bad and can only be gotton to its sharpest at 1024 res. The other resolutions are very bad. My older Samsung 997MB and emachines monitors are sharp as a tack. The quality seems to have really gone downhill

Other Thoughts: I do primarily photoediting and still prefer CRT to LCD for the quality of the color and ability to calibrate with Spyder2. Unfortunately almost no aperture grill monitors are made anymore and the better shadow mask monitors also seem to be dissapearing as well as sinking in quality

3 out of 5 eggsDecent CRT

Pros: Screen size, color reproduction, and casing quality.

Cons: Fuzzy text at any resolution and refresh rate. My eyes have adjusted . Seems to be more sensitive to interference than my previous 17" CRT. Don't let the "PerfectFlat" moniker fool you, the screen is not flat nor perfect. My 17" Envision (value monitor) is sharper than this Viewsonic. Pixel pitch seems off, I can easily see indiviual pixels while playing games and using the desktop.

Other Thoughts: It's an acceptable monitor but I expected more from Viewsonic. I recently returned a VS LCD because I wasn't happy with the color quality from my experience it seems like Viewsonic might be over-rated.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: It has an excellent picture. I use it for gaming, and it looks great.Text is good, and colors are good.

Cons: It is a little hard to get adjusted, and when it is in power savings mode, it makes a high pitched squeek. Other than that, it is a great monitor

Other Thoughts: Good monitor for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsCRT ain't dead

Pros: best crt i've used in 18 years of computing. it's black. lots of space for stickers. very good color controls. most crisp picture i've seen on a crt ever.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: monitors like this will make your pals wonder why the hell they bought that overpriced, ghosting LCD hunk of junk that could burn out pixels at any moment - or just come out of the box with a dozen dead pixels.

CRT lives on, and if i have anything to say about it, it always will. viva la CRT! :D
